The part-time Connection Minister at The Church at Harpeth Heights is responsible to the church, under the direction of the Campus and Teaching Pastor for casting vision, planning, implementing and evaluating comprehensive assimilation and guest services ministries. The focus of this position is overseeing the membership assimilation process and the various guest services teams while being available to participate in the broader life of the congregation.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:
Develop and implement strategies to help assimilate members and attenders into discipleship & service ministries.
Plan, promote, and help facilitate Discover classes (Discover Us, Discover You)
Provide oversight of PLACE Ministry and its lay leadership at the Campus
Records management for all members
Provide overall leadership strategy to the Guest Services Ministry.
Identify, equip & empower a team of volunteers to create an excellent guest experience on Sunday mornings.
Enlist & coordinate consistent leadership for the following Sunday morning teams: greeters, ushers, parking lot, coffee service, and medical support.
Oversee safety, CPR, first-aid, and emergency procedures
Oversee inclement weather planning & procedures
Worship Attendance Tracking
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:
Work collaboratively with other ministry teams (i.e. PLACE ministry staff, membership office, etc)
Maintain and refine job descriptions, expectations and standards for any volunteer that serves.
Organize, Plan & Facilitate regularly equipping & team-building meetings for these support teams.
Meet, as needed, with the BBC Guest Services Ministry champion to ensure alignment of vision.
Be available to serve as on-call minister if needed.
Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
A personal sense of calling from God to vocational Christian ministry in general and to this particular area of ministry.
Can identify closely with the mission, values, vision, theology, philosophy and methodology of Brentwood Baptist Church.
A mature Christian who is demonstrates the Fruit of the Spirit, is growing in their faith and is committed to spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading, prayer.
The proven ability to identify, equip and lead a team of volunteers.
Ability to collaborate, cooperate and function well in a team environment.
Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required from an accredited university.
Minimum of 3-5 years experience is preferred working in the local church or Christian ministry context.
