    Job Description

    Qualifications

    Has received Jesus Christ as personal savior and has a heart for Biblically based mentoring relationships
    Agrees with the TBC Statement of Faith
    Agrees with the Staff Code of Conduct
    Has three to six years of fundraising development and/or grant management experience with proven success in raising funds for nonprofit organizations
    Familiarity with the complexity of Alaska state and federal grants strongly preferred
    Possesses exceptional oral and written communication skills
    Possesses exceptional goal orientation and strategic thinking skills
    Is confident in face-to-face interaction with potential individuals, corporate and church boards and congregational sized promotions
    Is able to implement donor correspondence follow-up policies

    General Responsibilities

    Collaborate with the Board of Directors and Executive Director and other staff members to create a fund development plan which increases revenues to support the strategic direction of the organization
    Implement fund development plans
    Monitor and evaluate all fundraising activities to ensure that the fundraising goals are being achieved

    Development Responsibilities

    Follow the Benevon model for development practice
    Collaborates with the Board of Directors and Executive Director and other staff to identify annual goals and funding priorities for Summer Camp, Leadership Center, Raft Camp, Women’s Leadership, and Conferences
    Identifies potential contributors to special project funds and supporters of institution ongoing operations through examination of past records and knowledge of TBC Staff and Board of Directors
    Cultivates relationships with individual, corporate and organizational supporters
    Organizes any direct mailing campaigns for fund development
    Plans and coordinates any fundraising events
    Researches and pursues public and private grant agencies and foundations for funding
    Manages donor database to analyze giving and effectiveness of campaigns
    Manages development budget, in coordination with the Executive Director

    Public Relations

    Develops and implements a comprehensive communication and marketing plan to enhance the organization and promote fundraising
    Develops and maintains organization media: web presence, blogs, promotional videos, social media, etc…
    Designs and distributes communications materials for development efforts including branding efforts, newsletters, direct mailers
    Acts as a representative of the organization for public speaking engagements and networking engagements to promote the ministry
    Build and nurture strategic relationships for fund development

    Student Development

    Develop relationships with TLC students and TBC campers through program participation

    Additional Requirements

    Agree with the TBC/TLC Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct
    Be able to raise and maintain personal funds to cover all expenses to live and work in Port Alsworth, Alaska
    Attend weekly TBC/TLC staff meetings and all Board of Directors meetings
    Be willing to follow and enforce all TBC safety procedures and protocol
    Is committed to spiritual, personal, and professional advancement
