Provide leadership for all elements of middle and high school ministries within Cornerstone Church’s Litchfield, MN campus, as well as collaborating with other existing and future site ministry leaders of students.
This is a leadership, team building, coaching, and partnering position with an objective of helping the students of our area become totally devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
MINISTRY DESCRIPTION:
The Pastor of Student Ministries is directly responsible for providing leadership for all elements of Middle School and High School ministries within Cornerstone Church’s Litchfield, MN Campus, as well collaborating with other existing and future site ministry leaders of Middle School and High School students. This is a leadership, team building, coaching, and partnering position with an objective of helping the students of our area become totally devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
This position reports directly to the Litchfield Family Ministries Pastor.
This position is a salaried position with a total annual compensated range of $42K to $46K depending on skills and experience. Designating a portion of the total annual compensation as Housing Allowance is optional.
This position involves a typical work week consisting of Sunday thru Thursday with Office Hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm. Actual hours will vary dependent on ministry needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Personal Qualifications
• Demonstrates spiritual maturity and character consistent with the Biblical requirements for leadership.
• Exhibits a strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ and evidenced in personal relationships, commitment to the church, commitment to prayer, personal work ethic, compassion, and a heart for people.
• Strongly committed to the authority of scripture and a passion to help people pursue a deeper measure of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
• Servant leadership style of ministry with a team mentality.
• On–going growth in humility exhibited in their life and ministry exemplified as a teachable person.
• Leader and encourager of people, able to inspire loyalty and gain the respect of peers.
• Possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Ministry or equivalent ministry experience.
Experience and Skill
• 3–5 years’ experience leading church–based and/or para–church youth ministry.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, articulate, and implement a vision for Student Ministries which integrates with the other ministries of Cornerstone Church.
• Demonstrated ability to strategize and to develop and implement plans which will meet long–term goals.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, equip, and support volunteers as part of a team–oriented ministry.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with and serve parents in their calling of raising their children.
• Demonstrated ability to think creatively and develop new ministry models utilizing various ministry tools such the use of technology and live worship music.
• Demonstrated ability to relate well with middle school and high school students and parents.
• Demonstrated understanding of youth culture and ability to operate within that culture.
Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategy
• Embraces the mission, vision, values, and strategies of Cornerstone Church.
• Serves as a catalyst in executing the vision and direction of student ministries in conjunction with the Family Ministries Pastor.
• Provide effective strategic leadership to the volunteer leaders along with tools for making decisions and implementing actions that produce desired results.
• Develop and implement strategies for spiritual growth within but not limited to: Sunday events, outreach, mid–week youth events, mentoring, service within the church and to the community at large, discipleship, short–and mid–term missions experiences.
• Serve as the primary Bible teacher for Student Ministries.
• Provide resources and conduct training for parents.
• Facilitate age and gender–appropriate counseling and mentoring.
• Directly accountable to the Litchfield Family Ministries Pastor.
• Attend and contribute positive creative energy to staff meetings and relevant ministry functions.
• Maintain a cooperative, healthy, and motivating relationship with volunteers and ministry leaders, pastoral and office and staff, and the Elder Board.
• Participate and/or lead in special occasions such as baptisms, funerals, weddings, as well as administration of communion during Main Worship Services.
• Potential of occasional preaching within the Main Worship Services.
• Other duties as assigned by Litchfield Family Ministries Pastor.
• Be visible and active within the community at–large.
• Pursue spiritual vitality and professional growth by personal study, reading and attending seminars and maintain an attitude of life–long learning.
• Be committed to continued growth in personal and professional ministry.
• Willingness to grow disciples to the point where the disciple becomes the master.
• Willingness to collaborate with other Cornerstone sites to strengthen student ministry throughout the Cornerstone church planting family.
