Job Description

Position Overview: Working closely with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director’s purpose is to ensure the mission and vision of the Christian Activity Center is realized.

Position Description: The Executive Director oversees all necessary operations of the Center. The Director’s emphasis shall be to focus the organization on effective child development programming, fundraising, ensuring ethical conduct, fiscal stewardship, sustaining a spiritual environment, developing and executing long-term strategy, ensuring a positive public image, and creating wide awareness of the Center’s mission and vision. The Executive Director is ultimately responsible for all personnel decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Theology, Social Work, Child Development, or other relevant degree
• Deep theological understanding – Willingness to work in agreement with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000
• Strong leadership skills including directing and coaching staff
• Excellent written and verbal skills with an emphasis on active listening skills
• Strong grasp of IT and systems, financial acumen, and child development

JOB DUTIES:
Faith-Based Leadership
o Maintain Christ focus in all meetings, programs and overall culture
o Empathize with students’ and families’ situations individually

Program Development and Delivery
o Provide leadership to Staff developing programs and outcomes reporting to the Board
o Anticipate and propose solutions to challenges
o Consistently measures effectiveness of Center efforts and strives for continual improvement

Administration
o Maintain a culture which attracts, develops and keeps a diverse, highly qualified staff
o Encourage staff development through training, education and performance reviews
o Ensure employees are licensed and credentialed
o Ensure all policies and procedures are being administered including governmental regulations

Financial Management and Fundraising
o Ensures donor and grant development meets the Center’s needs to satisfy fixed variable expenses in support of the mission
o Prepare annual budget
o Maintain appropriate records and oversee staff responsible for accounting
o Use and distribute funds in accordance with contract/grant requirements
o Recommend to Board use of funds as appropriate
o Oversee preparation and distribution of monthly, quarterly, annual, and as requested financial reports.

Community Relations
o Establish relationships with individual donors
o Serve as spokesperson for CAC
o Develop strategic relationships with local and state government, schools, businesses, parents, etc.
o Network with other community organizations

As an employee
o Is an active member in good standing of a Southern Baptist Convention church, and willing to join a local Illinois Baptist State Association church.
o Attends a continuing education seminar of one to three days once a year.
o Attends a continuing education seminar of three to five days at least one time every three years.
o Regularly reads periodicals, books, online content, and other materials related to the assigned field of work.
