    Job Description

    We seek a highly relational, creative leader gifted in developing the spiritual lives of children, youth and adults.

Working closely with the other pastors and senior leadership, you believe in aligning and integrating all aspects of family ministry with the broader life and mission of Christ Community Church of Milpitas (CCCM). You invest in and equip parents. You believe that strengthened families – in whatever form they take – are the most effective setting for making disciples of children and youth.

    The person we seek will oversee the High School ministry directly with supervision of nursery, elementary and Jr. High ministries supported by a dedicated staff of 6 adults, an additional 2 youth interns and 50+ volunteers.

    Located in California’s Silicon Valley, CCCM is a large, ethnically diverse church of 800-1000. Biblically grounded and Christ-centered, we enjoy a broad representation of all ages and a great family atmosphere. We are a member church of ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians and its national network of 400+ congregations.

    • Develop vision, strategy, resources, and budgeting coupled with staff and ministry objectives
    • Collaborate with the Pastoral, Leadership and Culture teams
    • Report directly to the Senior Pastor

    Youth (Jr. High and Sr. High are separate programs):
    • Give spiritual guidance, nurture and support to youth, parents and leaders
    • Recruit and train ministry volunteers
    • Provide Sunday morning teaching at weekly youth worship service
    • Develop and lead Jr. High and High School mission trips
    • Oversee Wednesday night Jr. High club and Thursday night Sr. High club
    • Promote, market and communicate church-wide visibility for children and youth activities

    Children (Nursery – 5th grade):
    • Give spiritual guidance, nurture and support to children, parents and leaders
    • Recruit and train ministry volunteers
    • Oversee Nursery, Sunday School, Wednesday night club and special events
    • Oversee community Kid’s Club outreach
    • Partner with leaders to develop new ministries

    Qualifications and Experience:
    • Demonstrated maturity and growing faith in Jesus Christ
    • Relational team player, patient with others
    • Spiritual giftedness in leadership, teaching, organization, administration
    • High level of trust and confidentiality
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Counseling skills with children, youth and parents
    • Experience leading a team and providing performance reviews
    • Bachelor’s degree required and further training in relevant subject areas
    • Master’s degree preferred in relevant fields of study
    • 5-7 years’ experience in leadership of children and youth ministry • Personally embrace the vision, theology and values of CCCM and ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians
    • CCCM Partnership/Membership
    • Successful background check required
