    Job Description

The Cathedral Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania seeks an Interim Rector to serve from February 2021 for 12 to 15 months until the calling of a new Rector in 2023. We seek an Interim Rector who is experienced and enthusiastic in leading a large multi-generational congregation in a small city environment. The Cathedral is a vibrant, active, mission-focused community. The Interim Rector will be a colleague to, provide support for, and be supported by, a diverse and talented staff of 13 clergy and lay persons including a Canon Missioner, Director of Administration & Finance, and Canon for Ministry of Music, as well as an engaged Vestry. Nativity was founded in 1862, and the Cathedral building is a jewel in South Bethlehem. Worship life is rich, with many expressions of liturgical tradition, including family services, Celtic-influenced experiences, Spanish language, healing services, and Eucharist Rite II. The music ministry and concerts are integral to the parish and community. After a successful $3.2 million fundraising campaign, we are currently engaged in implementing a new master plan for our campus and in growing relationships with our community. We seek a priest who is thoughtful, context-sensitive, and supportive of our staff and lay-ministry. This is a great opportunity for a recently retired, gifted Priest.

Send OTM portfolio, resume, and cover letter to The Rev. Canon Melinda M. Artman by email.
