It is our hope that the next pastor of Dan River is someone who feels called to nurture and guide our congregation, leading and helping us to develop our gifts to further God’s kingdom in our community.
Our church is truly a family, and we are looking for a pastor who can love and shepherd us, helping us to grow in our collective knowledge, faith, and love for God and each other.
As the COVID era ends, Dan River is excited and ready for growth.
We believe our next pastor will be someone who can guide us as we seek to show others the love and salvation that can only come from Jesus Christ.
Our church Constitution defines the role of pastor for Dan River. Per our constitution, the pastor of Dan River Baptist Church shall seek to perform the duties of that office with fidelity. Those duties are to preach and teach God’s word, equip members for Christian service, administer the ordinances as commanded in the New Testament, and to minister and counsel with the members of the church family and others as needed, perform the ministry of evangelism, and perform other duties that pertain to the office. The pastor is required to be an ex-official member of all church organizations and committees, act as moderator at business meetings, and appoint ad hoc committees as needed (to be voted on at a business meeting). The pastor shall also supervise the church staff as provided in the Constitution.
