Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties
The pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Thomas will serve as the head of the church staff and moderator of session, worship leader, and provide pastoral care. Specific tasks include the following:

Head of Staff
* Supervise and guide the spiritual development of all church employees (Director of Christian Education, Director of Music, Secretary, Custodian, Treasurer, Organist and Nursery Attendant)
* Attend committee meetings and provides counsel and assistance to committee members
* Assist with stewardship initiatives
* Provide elder training
* Provide leadership to the Wise Owl Preschool Board
* (Optional) Participate in the Fort Thomas Ministerial Association

Pastoral Care
* Pray for the congregation
* Visit hospitals and shut-ins
* Officiate funerals and weddings (including same sex weddings as has been previously approved by session)
* Provide spiritual support and counsel to members of the congregation
* Support and encourage participation in mission
* Lead a monthly ecumenical communion service at the Barrington Assisted Living Center
* Lead social outreach in the local community and throughout Northern Kentucky
* Lead new member classes as needed

Leading Worship
* Plan and lead the congregation in worship
* Administer sacraments
* Guide the spiritual growth of the congregation through sermons and teaching
