The person called to this position should be a graduate of an accredited theological seminary with a post-graduate degree (eight years’ experience in a church of our size and/or D. Min. or D. D. preferred).
We desire a serious Bible scholar who is willing to boldly proclaim the Word of God without compromise, inspiring us to delve deeper into the Word. We seek a pastor who is an active listener and can provide direction after discernment.
We desire an enthusiastic educator with exceptional oral and written communication skills who can provide relevancy in all settings and to all ages. Our pastor should be an exceptional preacher who is able to convey God’s word through feelings and in a message that is delivered to our congregation, not read.
Our pastor should be well-organized with an ability and willingness to delegate authority and be a good manager of time.
We desire a pastor that will be a charismatic ambassador both to our local community and to the other local churches. We will expect the preacher to play a pastoral role in community-wide events.
We seek someone with an evangelistic attitude, enthused about attracting new members and winning them to acceptance of Christ.
We want to partner with a pastor who is energetic, inspiring, and committed beyond Sunday and motivates our Church members, staff, and mission partners. The person called should be a good fit for a friendly, outgoing, and supportive congregation who values community and personal involvement.
The person called as pastor will be expected to deliver a well-prepared sermon and maintain an evangelistic attitude in keeping with our vision for ministry.
The pastor will work with members of the staff, officers, and congregation to administer the church’s affairs, programs, and missions. Orientation for new officers, serving as moderator at session and congregational meetings, attending diaconate meetings, and availability to various church committees should they require advice and pastoral guidance will be expected.
This is a financially strong church with no debt. The pastor will work with the officers and congregation to encourage financial growth to further develop our programs and missions.
In coordination with the Congregational Care Committee, the pastor will conduct matters of congregational care such as grief counseling, premarital counseling, and perform regular visits to the sick and shut-ins. The pastor will promote and equip members of the Congregation to perform similar deeds on a regular basis.
Throughout the year, the pastor will officiate at weddings, funerals, and baptisms, and teach confirmation classes.
Interaction with community organizers and other churches as the representative of our church will be essential.
The pastor will serve as chief of staff for the full-time employees including DCE, Director of Music, Hostess, Sexton, Pre-school Teachers, and Youth Director.
The pastor will perform responsibilities agreed upon with the Session.
