Job Description

Central Baptist Church is a church committed to helping people connect to Jesus, be equipped by Jesus, and be sent by Jesus to serve and to share the gospel. Central is searching for a dedicated Pastor of Worship and Communications who will serve to multiply its worship ministry by identifying and training up musicians and worship leaders. This person will also be responsible for increasing efficiency in communication by streamlining how we communicate both within our church and outside. If you are ignited in worship by City Alight, the Gettys, and Shane and Shane, with a smattering of Hillsong, we might be the place for you.

This person will be responsible for and lead our worship services, as well as oversee and execute all communication plans. Central is a healthy church of around 450 people in the tight-knit community of Sioux City, IA, the seventh-best small city in America. We strive to connect people to Christ and each other, equip them to become whole in Christ and ready to serve Christ, and send them to serve in God’s Kingdom and share Christ’s message.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Working with Senior Pastor to create vision-focused and engaging worship experiences
  • Develop and mentor vocal, instrumental, and tech volunteers
  • Cultivates an atmosphere of humble, sacrificial excellence for Jesus and grace-filled love for each other
  • Organize, schedule, and supervise all the necessary participants and components for each service
  • Lead worship at least twice per month, utilizing other worship leaders in the congregation other weeks
  • Oversee the worship budget
  • Streamline communications to both internal and external communities
Skills and Experience you should have:
  • Undergraduate degree in related field preferred; Bible/Theological education/training desired
  • Have significant skills and gifting in both singing and in playing at least one instrument
  • Experience and proficiency in building, leading, and managing teams
  • Experience in communication skills that include visual and printed worship tools as well as internet and social media forms of communication
  • Be proficient with a variety of software applications including Microsoft Office, Proclaim, iMovie, Adobe Photoshop, Mainstage, and Planning Center
  • An understanding of lighting, projection, and sound systems
