Job Description

The Brentwood, Preschool Minister is responsible to the church, under the direction of the Next Gen and Family Minister for overseeing all ministries from Birth through Kindergarten at Brentwood Baptist Church – Brentwood Campus. The role is designed to fit within the overall vision for ministry to parents and the spiritual formation of our preschoolers, children and students that is biblical, comprehensive, consistent and integrated. The Preschool Minister is responsible for leading the church in planning, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive program for preschool children, their teachers and their families.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Gives leadership to all elements of the Preschool Ministry from birth through
  • Strives to lead and equip staff, leaders, and parents in moving families to understand and embrace a life of disciple- making and Gospel conversations in the home and beyond, and to live missionally as a family wherever God is leading.
  • Give leadership to hiring and managing the appropriate levels of employed preschool
  • Guide leadership development to preschool ministry staff by providing occasions for growth through digital strategies, conferencing and personal development
  • Cooperate with the Preschool Minister: Groups and Leadership in enlisting, training and managing volunteer teachers for preschool Sunday morning, KidLife Choir, and KidLife Missions, VBS, ..
  • Continue to strengthen the strategy for preschool program planning and implementation with the leadership of the preschool ministry
  • Develop ongoing initiatives in reaching and ministering to young families in the community and leading out in gospel conversations that prayerfully lead toward salvation and
  • Plan, promote, and conduct leadership training for new teachers and volunteers and continued training for experienced
  • Provide leadership to the preschool staff as they evaluate, choose, and approve those ministries that meet the best practices for Brentwood Baptist Church.
  • Continue to cast a vision for the employed childcare ministry and a continued strategic relationship with the Brentwood Young Children’s School as a vital part of the overall Preschool
  • Provide and support the Next Generation Ministry efforts to inspire, encourage, equip, and minister to families at Brentwood Baptist Church, especially those who parent preschool
  • Give overall leadership in coordinating Preschool Vacation Bible
  • Provide leadership, along with the Preschool Minister: Groups and Leadership, and BYCS director, to update and establish preschool ministry policies and procedures, and ensure that all preschool teachers (employed and volunteer), and parents understand and adhere to the preschool policies and
  • Support and implement the Preschool Core Values (5Cs) and lead the Preschool Ministry Staff as they continue to incorporate each value in
    1. CREATE experiences that teach children about God
    2. CARE for families
    3. COMMIT to a safe and secure environment
    4. CONNECT leaders and parents in community
    5. COMMUNICATE with Parents and Leaders
  • Minister to teachers, preschoolers, and parents as needs arise in their
  • Support the work of the Sunday morning experience for preschoolers through Preschool Lay Teams (Preschool Enlistment Focus Group, Enlistment Strategy Focus Group, …etc.).
  • Consistently create and implement innovative ways to inspire and enlist new laity in leadership
  • Follow the Vetting procedures for enlistment and training of all new preschool volunteer
  • Lead out in vision and strategy of the K Trail kindergarten ministry philosophy, methodology, and

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Cooperate with the Senior Pastor, Senior Leadership Team, and other staff members to promote the entire ministry plan of Brentwood Baptist
  • Counsel church and non-church members as needs
  • Serve as minister on call as assigned and perform duties that accompany that
  • Serve as a liaison to staff and church membership to communicate preschool
  • Attend all required staff meetings and complete forms and reports in a timely and concise
  • Have flexibility to accept and execute other duties as
  • Collaborate with Preschool staff and volunteers of Brentwood Baptist regional

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A personal sense of calling from God to vocational Christian ministry in general and to this particular area of
  • Can identify closely with the mission, values, vision, theology, philosophy and methodology of Brentwood Baptist
  • A mature Christian who is demonstrates the Fruits of the Spirit, is growing in their faith and is committed to spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading,

  • Knowledge of developmental stages for children ages birth – Kindergarten with the ability to choose and implement appropriate

EDUCATION  & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience ministering to children in a church setting with at least 100
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
  • Seminary training
