St. Stephen’s, Waretown and The Church of the Holy Spirit, Tuckerton seek to call a Priest-in-Charge who knows God’s presence in his/her life, reacts to it, and is skillful at sharing it with others. We are searching for a leader to inspire our congregations to continue doing God’s work within our parish communities and beyond. We realize our Priest-in-Charge will be a full time position, and will be shared between the two churches and that it will require a knowledgeable balancing of these needs, with the resources available.
We are well established Episcopal Churches, St. Stephen’s is a parish and Church of the Holy Spirit is a mission church. We are looking for a warm and welcoming Priest-in-Charge who has a personal relationship with God and a love of the Eucharist, who will deliver engaging sermons tied to the Lectionary readings of the day. We seek an enthusiastic, energetic priest who will share our passion about the Church and its overall growth and assist us with our outreach programs, such as: our monthly community dinners at the Church of the Holy Spirit; our Food Pantry at St Stephen’s, which serves up to 200 people from the surrounding area each month, our Good Samaritan House, which provides temporary housing four employable men in life transitions in their lives and our Thrift Outlet.
We look for a Priest-in-Charge with strong effective communication skills and the ability to lead and organize others, a person who will facilitate spiritual growth within the congregation, leading our Adult Education classes and encouraging young families to come to our church, to grow our Sunday School classes, and someone who will be involved in our surrounding community.
We look for a Priest-in-Charge who is compassionate, caring and empathetic. A good listener who will visit parishioners who are in hospital and will be available to parishioners who are in need of pastoral care either in the church or at home. Someone who will assist us in advancing the missions of both Churches.
