    Job Description

    PCPC Mission
    To extend the transforming presence of the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ in Dallas and to the world.

    Purpose of Job
    Stemming from a passion for evangelism and missions, casting a vision of God’s plan for PCPC members and staff to extend the transforming presence of the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ in Dallas and to the world as the senior staff member who is responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of the ministries of world missions, national missions (Missions to North America), Lao Presbyterian Fellowship, and global local ministries through the equipping of the saints to do the ministry.

    Individual Job Responsibilities
    Abide in Christ – Possess a dependent, abiding relationship with Christ aligned with the reformed tradition of faith all for the glory of God.

    (25%) Shepherding Responsibilities
    * Shepherd, equip, challenge and motivate PCPC members and Missions & Church Planting (M&CP) staff to be involved in international missions, national missions, and global local ministries
    * Oversee and encourage the development of effective M&CP lay leadership teams under the supervision of the M&CP Executive Committee
    * Provide personal counsel for potential career and short-term missionaries
    * Shepherd, motivate, equip and qualify PCPC members as home church missionaries
    * Provide care and counseling for PCPC supported missionaries and ministries with visits and other interaction
    * Coordinate with mission agencies
    * Teach the Bible, as called upon, overseas, in Sunday School, Midweek, new member class, and other forums

    (40%) Ministry Leadership – Lead and Direct M&CP Ministries
    * Build on the vision established by the PCPC Session and previous M&CP ministry leadership teams and staff
    * Work with M&CP Executive Committee to establish strategy, set objectives, and build implementation plans
    * Develop, coordinate and implement M&CP ministries including efforts to integrate missions and outreach throughout PCPC ministries
    * Maintain up-to-date written M&CP ministry policies and guidelines
    * Oversee congregational education efforts, mission conferences, mission and church planting events in coordination with M&CP lay leadership and staff
    * Oversee an effective M&CP prayer effort for M&CP ministries and missionaries
    * Strategic planning for short term missions
    * Pursue personal spiritual and professional development in order to develop and maintain a high level of missiological and church planting expertise
    * Serve as liaison to Southwest Church Planting Network
    * Work with the LPF chair, committee and ministry leader to guide, support and advise the LPF ministry
    * Align M&CP’s outcomes with PCPC’s vision and other ministries
    * Leverage individual work effort to enhance church-wide ministry outcomes and team accomplishments
    * Develop denominational contacts with Mission to the World (“MTW”) and Mission to North America (“MNA”)
    * Develop working relationships with non-Presbyterian Church of America (“PCA”) mission agencies
    * Provide key leadership in vision and plan development for missional aspects of PCPC’s extend vision
    * Serve as PCPC’s representative on the Lausanne Global Council of Churches

    (15%) Staff Leadership
    * Hire, develop, and mentor staff
    * Set goals for direct reports, conduct appraisals, and oversee quality and quantity of work
    * Establish accountability that motivates and rewards work excellence
    * Manage resources including people, workflow, work plans, initiatives, processes, and timelines for projects
    * Prioritize prayer with M&CP staff

    (15%) Financial Oversight & Stewardship
    * Respects and handles all resources as sacred to the Lord; plans realistically for and makes highest and best use of financial resources
    * Works within ministry budget throughout the fiscal year; tracks and properly accounts for expenditures; aligns ministry budget goals and outcomes with overall PCPC vision
    * Provides receipts and submits monthly VISA reconciliations to Accounting by established deadlines; looks for ways to reduce costs and avoids waste

    (5%) Evangelism
    * Intentionally pursue meaningful relationships with those outside the church; lead others by example, teaching and exhortation; assist PCPC members in learning to engage the culture

    Education and Experienced Required
    College degree and eight plus years of ministry and staff leadership experience, including at least five years of applicable mission’s experience. Must be ministry driven and have the education required by the PCA; should be an expert in teamwork, communication, problem solving, and leadership/shepherding.

    Qualifications – Competencies
    * Serve alongside the senior leadership of the church, with an eye for alignment with church ministry goals
    * Lead ministry strategic planning efforts
    * Manage M&CP staff effectively
    * Oversee and coordinate lay ministry working teams
    * Facilitate ministry in multiple countries, with cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity
    * Maintain ongoing interaction and relationships with home church missionaries and affiliated ministries
    * Manage the Missionary Development Process
    * Establish budgets and manage expenditures and grants

    Work Environment
    * 5 to 8+ weeks of international and domestic travel, otherwise normal office and church environment
    * Non-standard workdays and hours
    * Highly relational and people intensive (including cross-cultural awareness)
    * Christ-centered
