First Baptist Church of Pelham, Georgia is receiving resumes for the position of Senior Pastor. We are located in Southwest Georgia in a city of approximately 4,000 people and have average attendance of 150-175 (pre-Covid).
The pastor is responsible for leading the church to function as a New Testament Church. The pastor will lead the congregation, the organizations, and the church staff to perform their tasks.
The pastor is the leader of pastoral ministries in the church. As such he works with the deacons and church staff to: (1) lead the church in the achievement of its mission; (2) proclaim the gospel to believers and unbelievers; and (3) care for the church’s members and other persons in the community. Specific details concerning pastoral responsibilities are listed in the job description for the pastor in the “Church Personnel Handbook” of First Baptist Church.
First Baptist is firmly affiliated with Georgia Baptist and the Southern Baptist Convention, but our primary focus is on the Kingdom of God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The pastor will have a passion to reach lost souls and a desire to see the church grow spiritually as well as in membership.
