Hillendale Baptist Church is seeking a Senior Pastor to lead our congregation and ministries. We are a caring, dynamic congregation with a vision for reaching the community. Hillendale is an English-speaking multi-racial, ethnic, and cultural congregation. We are recovering from the COVID pandemic and wish to grow our church and ministries by extending our outreach programs to the local communities. Hillendale participates in outreach for the needs of our local and state communities. One of our goals is to grow our youth and younger generations within the church family.
Job Requirements: 1. Must be an active Christian, called of God and must be willing to serve as a faithful representative of Hillendale Baptist Church. 2. A Master’s Degree in Divinity, or similar field of study from an accredited seminary that theologically is in line with the beliefs of the Southern Baptist Convention is preferred. Will consider Senior Pastor work experience and performance in lieu of education. 3. Must have strong Biblical knowledge and be skilled in discipleship and personal prayer. 4. Must be an effective preacher, expository style preferred, who is a strong leader of the flock, a caring shepherd, and has a compelling vision for growing the church. 5. Must be an energetic leader who can adapt and create new ways to reach youth and their families in our constantly changing world. 6. Must have strong organizational skills and ability to collaborate with staff. 7. Open to different styles of worship music, other than traditional hymns, e.g. contemporary praise, and worship songs. 8. Willingness to grow personally, spiritually, and professionally. 9. Good ability to communicate through social media and other computer technology. 10. Must be willing to undergo a background, reference, and credit check. 11. Must have a minimum of five (5) years in ministry experience. 12. Experience and training in church revitalization.
Responsibilities: 1. Oversee the church and its functioning, including but not limited to Sunday Services and Wednesday night Bible Study; 2. Administer the ordinances, including but not limited to the LORD’s Supper and Baptisms; 3. Work with the deacons in leading the church in the fulfillment of its missions; 4. Attend church functions, including but not limited to Quarterly Business Meetings, celebrations, fundraisers, and social events; 5. Support Mission projects; 6. Participate in Children & Youth programs; 7. Reconcile any conflicts in church in a confidential manner; 8. Counsel, guide, and motivate new and maturing Christians in the church; 9. Perform other duties that usually pertain to the office of Senior Pastor. 10. Co-vocational situations or less than full-time will be considered.
