Description: Unity Baptist Church in Ashland, KY is currently accepting resumes for the full-time position of senior pastor. Membership desires a man who honors God in Biblical inerrant preaching/teaching, who shows his passion, caring, and humility in practice and example in both his church and personal family life. We seek a Spirit-filled pastor/preacher who will guide church members in their daily walk with God to learn, love, live and share the Gospel in our community, region, state, nation and world.
- Minimum experience of 5 years as senior/lead pastor.
- Support and adherence to the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.
- Spiritually and administratively lead a full-time staff currently consisting of the worship pastor, youth pastor, and secretary as well as three part-time positions.
- Serve as chairman of the Church Council to lead in the work of the total-church program, working with deacons, church officers, and committees as they perform their assigned responsibilities.
Compensation: Commensurate with education and experience.
Church Ministries: Sunday school; Discipleship groups; children & student ministries including AWANA, Children in Action, Children’s and Adult Choir; Middle and High School Youth groups; Women’s ministry (WMU); and Prime Timers senior adult ministry.
Area Info: Ashland is located in Boyd County with a population of 20,000 plus an additional surrounding community size of 27,000 in a predominately rural setting. Employment opportunities, while formerly industrial, have shifted to mostly service-oriented, including some industrial, healthcare, education and a growing technical job base. The closing/downsizing of businesses over the past decade has led to a decrease in population. It is an area with many churches of multiple Protestant and Catholic denominations with strong Baptist and Methodist influences.
