    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY:   Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Vice President of Curriculum & Training serves as part of the Management Team. This person is responsible for overseeing a department that manages the development of the Chalmers Center’s curricula and online courses and that maintains training standards throughout the organization. The person in this role leads a team that works in a highly collaborative fashion with other departments and with partner organizations to create and adapt curricula and training that equips churches around the world to walk alongside people who are poor.


    • Commits to pray and advocate for the poor and the church in light of the mission of the Chalmers Center
    • Leads the Curriculum & Training team, promoting a healthy team culture that serves the organization and strategic partners as they seek to achieve their goals
    • Develops and manages the curriculum & training design process that incorporates the inclusion of relevant stakeholders (technical experts, theological framework team, users, etc.) and obtains necessary approvals throughout the process
    • Facilitates the curriculum & training design process to ensure that new and existing products provide the intended user experience and outcomes
    • Maintains and promotes curriculum & training standards in line with Chalmers’ Ministry Design Principles on poverty alleviation and best practices of adult education and learning design
    • Based on organizational strategy and goals, sets project priorities and allocates team resources accordingly
    • Allocates training and curriculum development resources to help other departments complete various projects
    • Completes other duties as requested


    • Passionate for serving Christ’s Kingdom, the church, and people who are poor
    • Preferred: A Master’s degree in education or related field
    • Preferred: A Master’s degree in biblical or theological studies
    • Preferred: Experience in community development
    • Demonstrated competency in curriculum and training design
    • Significant cross-cultural experience and intercultural sensitivity
    • Outstanding oral and written communications skills
    • Flexible, creative thinker, problem-solving ability, desire to learn, and self-starter
    • Exceptional organizational and process development skills
    • Management experience that promotes the flourishing of team members
    • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 15%
