Worship & Arts Minister

Job Description

Buchanan Christian Church is seeking to hire a full-time Director of Worship Arts. This position will begin August 29, 2022, consequent upon the retirement of our present Director. Both men and women, as well as singles and marrieds, are welcome to apply for this position. The Director of Worship Arts will be a member of the ministry staff team, together with the Senior Minister and the Associate Minister. The purpose of worship arts ministries at BCC is to lead the people of God in the worship of God in a way that contributes to evangelism and discipleship. The Director of Worship Arts has primary responsibility for planning and leading worship services, for leading the church choir, for overseeing and administrating all worship-related ministry teams, and for working to involve many BCC covenant partners in these various areas of service.

We are seeking candidates who have the following qualifications:

Spiritual and Character Qualifications:

A committed disciple of Jesus Christ who is growing in love for God and others.
A disciple who demonstrates both the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:16-26) and the character qualities (1 Tim. 3:1-7) necessary to be a servant-leader in the Lord’s Church.
A disciple who is humble, teachable, flexible, a team-player, patient, and hard-working.
A disciple who has a passion for leading the Lord’s people in worship and for forming the Lord’s people to worship him with their lives.

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Music/Worship Ministry from a Christian Church/Church of Christ College

Skill Qualifications:

Vocal and instrumental ability to lead the congregation in musical worship.
Ability to plan and design worship services.
Ability to organize, train & equip, and lead individuals, teams, and groups.
Ability to care for people and minister to their needs.
Ability to carry out administrative responsibilities necessary for accomplishing ministry.
