    Job Description

    Leesburg Community Church (LCC) is seeking to hire a God-honoring Worship Pastor who loves to lead people in grateful response for the things God has done for us.

    About the Position:

    LCC is a diverse congregation of approximately 300 members with three, corporate worship service styles: Contemporary, Traditional, and Hispanic.  LCC is seeking a Pastor to oversee and lead worship in the Contemporary service; oversee and as appropriate lead worship, in conjunction with the choir, in the Traditional service; oversee worship in the Hispanic service.

    Responsibilities:

    Pastoral Responsibilities

    • Maintain daily discipline and delight in God’s Word and Prayer.
    • Shepherd, support and encourage those who lead worship and provide technical support in our Contemporary, Traditional, Hispanic, Youth and Children’s ministries.
    • Train-up less experienced worship leaders, musicians, and technicians.
    • Minister to the LCC congregants and visitors.
    • Become an active member of LCC and participate in the life of the church.

    Corporate Worship Responsibilities

    • Lead worship, from either the guitar or piano, during the weekend Contemporary service and other events, as they arise.
    • As able and appropriate, assist worship in the Traditional and Hispanic services.
    • Assist the Student Pastor and Children’s Minister in the execution of their worship experiences.
    • Oversee and execute weekend services coordination in cooperation with the Lead Pastor, Spanish Ministries Pastor, and the creative team.
    • Carefully select songs, scripture readings and other creative elements that enhance LCC’s worship services and engage the congregation in reverent worship.
    • Thoughtfully arrange special services that include communion, baptisms, funerals, baby dedications, etc.
    • Ensure the scheduling of vocalists, musicians, technicians, and special guests in Contemporary and Traditional services.  If able, provide the same support to the Hispanic service.
    • Coordinate and lead weekly Contemporary worship rehearsals.
    • Conduct well organized rehearsals that honor volunteers’ time.
    • Ensure accurate readable charts and sheet music are available to vocalists and musicians well in advance of rehearsals.
    • Ensure the technical team has relevant information well in advance of rehearsals.
    • Provide oversight and assistance to the Traditional and Hispanic worship rehearsals.
    • Aid in the execution of well-organized rehearsals that honor volunteers’ time.
    • As able and appropriate, lead Traditional and Hispanic service rehearsals.
    • Ensure technical support is available and the technical teams have relevant information well in advance of rehearsals.
    • Recruit new team members for all aspects of worship services.

    Technical Responsibilities

    • Oversee and maintain all worship related technology and software used in the church.
    • Seek to advance understanding, use, and development of the most up to date and relevant worship resources.
    • Recruit and train new members of the technical team.
    • Oversee and schedule worship equipment repairs.
    • Manage the worship budget in conjunction with the Executive Pastor.

    Other Responsibilities

    • Be a positive, contributing member of the LCC staff, willing to support and encourage other staff members.
    • Participate in weekly staff meetings, prayer, and other special events.
    • Help with other responsibilities the Lead Pastor deems necessary.
    • Keep regular office hours.

    • The ability to draw people into the worship service.
    • He will have a growing relationship with Christ, manifesting itself in Spirit-filled worship.
    • He will seek to live a life that is above reproach and be committed to LCC’s mission, values, and statement of faith.
    • He will be a good team player exhibiting both strong leadership and humility.
    • He will seek to foster an attitude of mutual respect and spiritual growth with all his counterparts.
    • He will be proficient in guitar, voice and or piano.
    • It is preferred, but not required, that he is a seminary graduate or has seminary training.

    Education and Experience:

    • We prefer to have a candidate with an undergraduate degree in Music, Church Music, or Worship Arts. We will take a candidates’ experience, level of musical skill and leadership ability into account.
    • We would prefer to have a leader with at least 3 years’ experience leading a worship band.
