The Worship Associate shall be responsible to the church, under the direction of the Worship Pastor, for providing assistance to the Worship Pastor and Music Staff with worship service planning and implementation, music programming, rehearsals, and worship related music, technical and equipment support and maintenance.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead congregational music with the Worship Pastor.
Assist with preparations and set up for various music rehearsals.
Maintain and update Planning Center Online Services and Music Library.
Enter Worship Lyrics for Services on ProPresenter.
Maintain and prepare Digital Audio Workstation (DP or Ableton) for services.
Rehearse ensembles as requested by the Worship Pastor.
Assist with worship service design, planning and implementation.
Assist with duties related to recruitment, scheduling, performances and trips.
Maintain, inventory and purchase music instruments and equipment.
Manage Music Ministry websites, graphics, communications, promotions and data bases.
Work with the Audio Technician and Technology and Production Associate for audio and lighting needs.
Recording and CD/DVD production.
Provide music and technical support to weddings, funerals, outside groups, church members, church ministries, and special services and events.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES, may include but are not limited to the following:
• Assist the Children’s Choir Director with Children’s Choirs and Music Camp.
• Collaborate with the Communications Department in the promotion of Worship Ministry initiatives.
Be available to serve the church in hospital visitation, prospect visitation, serving as on-call minister and on-site minister (as assigned).
Maintain a program of spiritual and professional development.
A strong Christ-follower who can identify closely with the culture, mission, values, vision and priorities of Harrisburg Baptist Church.
A mature Christian who is growing in their personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible Study, prayer and service.
A willingness to be a “team player,” where collaboration can exist between the Worship Ministry and other ministries within Harrisburg Baptist.
Proven worship leadership, vocal and instrumental music gifts, talents and skills.
Ability to lead worship on guitar.
A calling, understanding, and passion for worship.
The ability to work effectively with various worship models, styles and paradigms.
The ability to identify, train, lead, relate to and care for cross generation volunteers.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
General knowledge of audio and acoustics.
Knowledge of musical instruments used in both traditional and contemporary worship.
Knowledge of computer systems, office and worship programs and software essential to music and worship ministry management and production.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
At least two years of experience serving in a paid position or as a volunteer leader at a church.
