The Worship Leader is responsible for leading the congregation to worship God in the main Sunday service, as well as special programs and events. This position not only requires musical leadership and knowledge, but the worship leader must spiritually shepherd individuals in the worship ministry and the congregation at large, understanding that worshiping God is a lifestyle, not just an event.
Function as the primary worship music leader for weekly adult worship services. Coordinate with the Senior Pastor who sets the overall theme and direction, and the Program Director who oversees the flow of the service.
Recruit, train, equip, and direct musicians, vocalists, and technicians. This includes leading praise team rehearsals and team building experiences.
Participate as a member of the paid staff, attending staff meetings, leadership meetings, first Tuesday prayer meetings, staff luncheons, etc.
Lead the creative use and proactive upkeep of sound equipment/technology.
Provide pastoral care and leadership for members of the congregation as needed.
Gives testimony to and exhibits a strong relationship with Jesus Christ; and recognizes the call of God to serve the church through music leadership.
Demonstrates a stable, growing, and mature Christian life.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor of Music degree is preferred, as well as training and experience in church music ministry.
Music skills should include reading music, understanding instrumentation, voices, and appreciation of all music styles; as well as understanding the culture of CrossRoads and leading the congregation accordingly.
Proficiency to lead worship both vocally and with guitar and / or keyboard.
Willing to join the membership of CRCC and is in full agreement of our statement of faith.
It is anticipated the duties will take approximately 8-10 hours per week.
