The Young Adult Pastor will provide leadership, develop and expand the ministry of Greater Mt. Zion Church to the young adult generation (26-35): singles, couples, and young families.

1. Oversee Programming in the Young Adult Ministry.
a. Strategize and organize a comprehensive young adult ministry to fulfill the vision of the Pastor and the mission of the church.
b. Provide vision and leadership for initiatives connected to young adults that encourages spiritual growth, relational growth and ministry growth. This includes but is not limited to Bible studies, small groups, retreats, outreach events and service opportunities using their spiritual gifts.
c. Provide pastoral care, counsel, and direction for young adults.
d. Research and attend conferences and seminars to improve the creativity of the young adult ministry.
e. Recruit, equip, and empower a team of young adult leaders to assist with the various functions of the ministry.
f. Establish and maintain effective leadership for each activity of the ministry.
g. Provide leadership training for volunteers and young adult leaders.
2. Oversee Discipleship in the Young Adult Ministry.
a. Develop a plan to grow and mature young adults in their relationship with Christ and champion a relationally driven ministry.
b. Oversee classes for young adults that target areas of felt need.
c. Oversee small groups for young adults: singles, couples, young families.
d. Create and identify opportunities for young adults to serve in our church and community.
3. Oversee Missional activity and Ministry in the Young Adult Ministry.
a. Strategize, implement, and oversee evangelism efforts for young adults.
b. Oversee fellowship events and activities that connect Christians and pre-Christians to the Young Adult Ministry at Greater.
c. Visit places where young adults gather to build relationships.
d. Oversee ministry involvement in our causes: Fatherlessness, Teen Pregnancy, Education, Poverty, Economic Empowerment, Health and Single Parents.
4. Oversee Administration of the Young Adult Ministry.
a. Develop and oversee annual ministry budget.
b. Establish annual goals for the ministry.
c. Oversee the development of the ministry calendar.
5. Minister to young adults in times of celebration, bereavement, loss and illness.
a. Communicate losses and illnesses of young adults with church administrative assistant.
b. Call and pray with young adults and young adult leaders.
c. Attend funerals.
d. Make hospital, nursing home and home visits.
e. Attend special events like graduations, ceremonies.
6. Serve as a spiritual leader for the congregation.
a. Lead a small group.
b. Preach occasionally.
c. Assist staff and church leadership in areas not directly related to young adult ministries
7. Weekly attendance at Sunday worship services.
8. Live according to the moral qualifications of elders in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
9. Do anything else deemed necessary by the Lead Pastor.
