Youth and Young Adult Minister: This individual will grow and sustain meaningful relationships with young Christians, grades 7-12, and their families. A Person who is guiding growth in worship and discipleship, while also being a friend and leader in mission and evangelism. A lived and deepening relationship with Jesus Christ. An open and ongoing discovery of the Anglican tradition, and its practice within an Episcopal Cathedral parish. Willingness to develop a working knowledge of social media and software used by church staff. Ability to be certified in “Safeguarding God’s Children,” and maintain timely and effective communication to staff and congregation. Attend weekly worship services, offering leadership to various aspects of worship in partnership with other staff. Encourage students and their families to attend, participate, and serve in worship services. Recruit and steer volunteers to help guide the formation of young Christians and their families. Facilitate Christian discipleship among Youth across the life of the Cathedral. Organize, plan and lead young Christians and volunteers in regular mission activity in local and global contexts, including an annual short term mission trip. Model personal evangelism and provide opportunities for young Christians and their families to share why they follow Jesus, and how God is more deeply present in their lives. Develop, and lead a team of key personnel whose function is to cast a guiding vision, set goals, and offer support for all ministry activities. Recruit, supervise, and coordinate scheduling of all Youth Ministry volunteers, ensuring their compliance with “Safeguarding God’s Children” policies. Work collaboratively with the Dean, Clergy, and Cathedral staff in discovering God’s ongoing revelation for young Christians and their families.
