About Beulah United Methodist Church
Beulah UMC has approximately 900 members, with currently 300 active members. When the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020, services were immediately halted until a solution was devised. In the immediate wake of the pandemic, the church had online services and emphasized a variety of ways to connect online throughout the week. This emphasis on online connection remains today. Drive-in worship began followed by in-person worship in August. Our weekly in-person worship averages 80-90 in attendance, along with approximately 50 on-line viewers. Beulah is blessed to remain debt-free. The community surrounding our church continues to change. The demographics of the nearby schools are roughly: 46% African-American, 38% Hispanic, 10% white, and 2% Asian. The demographics of our church do not reflect these demographics, as the majority of our members are white. Our community is unique in that there are at least 9 congregations within a mile of Beulah, with several meeting in schools. The Korean Baptist Church is across the street from our building and our next-door neighbor is St. Augustine Catholic Church. We anticipate these demographics to continue in the future. |
