    Job Description

    A committed Christian leader with a passion for discipling children with the gospel. The ideal candidate for this entry-level leadership position has experience relating well with children, parents, and volunteers. This role will require a candidate with demonstrated experience sharing Jesus with children, who is willing to discern and pioneer a fresh path to grow our existing ministry to children for both South Metro Vineyard and LaVina Burnsville with a starting point of 10-15 hours per week.


    • Lead the church’s efforts to minister to children between ages 6 months and 5th grade.

    • Review all curriculum used by the church’s children’s ministry and ensure they are consistent with the church’s doctrinal commitments.

    • Ensure Bible teaching is age-appropriate and in consideration of the full counsel of God’s Word.

    • Identify, recruit, train, deploy, monitor, and nurture new volunteers for the church’s children’s ministry.

    • Pray for and attend to the spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental needs of the children in our community.

    • Lead efforts to minister to the parenting needs of the church body.

    • Oversee quarterly activities in which the church’s children participate for spring, summer, fall, and winter seasons.

    • In consultation with senior church leadership, develop an annual budget for the children’s ministry and operate within the constraints of that budget.

    • Regularly report to the church’s leadership about plans, challenges, and successes in the children’s ministry.

    • Participate in staff meetings and retreats.

    •High school diploma. 2-3 years of combined work/volunteer experience and/or education in child development, early/elementary education, ministry, or related field preferred.

    •Bi-lingual language skills in both English and Spanish preferred

    •Understanding of and willingness to serve within the doctrinal commitments of the church.

    •Ability to lead people of varying ethnicities, socio-economic levels, and generations.

    •A desire to teach and mentor children in biblical truth.

    •Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    •A committed Christian growing in faith and character; A lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9).

    •A commitment to the mission of the church.

    Standards of Performance
    All members of our church staff, both paid and volunteer, are evaluated on a regular basis. Other factors may include (but are not necessarily limited to) your attitude, the way you relate to others, punctuality, accuracy, the way you respond to direction, personal initiative, and general work habits.
