The role is to lead, plan, evaluate, and coordinate the Children’s ministry. The major focus is to provide leadership and guidance to children, preschoolers, and their parents.
This position will assist in promoting the vision of our church.
This is an exempt (salaried) full time ministry position
Working Relationships• Reports to NextGen Pastor• Supervises – Members of Children’s Ministry Team• Collaborates with other members of the pastoral team
Expectations/Requirements: • Requirements • Personal relationship with God, being daily transformed by Jesus • A passion for ministering through discipleship to children, their parents, and children’s volunteers • Function well with co-workers to encourage cooperation and promote teamwork • Bachelor’s degree is a minimum; seminary master’s degree in religious education preferred. Effective experience and ministry success can be an acceptable substitute for seminary in the right candidate • Expectations • Invest time each week making contacts with children, parents, and volunteers as needed • Pastoral care • Achieve minimum of 16 hours of continuing education each year (conferences, classes, etc.) • Visit a church of similar makeup at least twice a year and bring a report to the team.
Responsibilities: • Develop and deliver a robust ministry for our children, birth through 6th grade. • Discipleship • Sunday morning Bible study • Disciple-making opportunities for all children and their families • Special seasonal discipleship experiences: VBS, Camps, Retreats, Special Events • Create innovative ministry opportunities for children & families. Enlist and train volunteers • Childcare, Play Days, Parents’ Night Out • Provide Week Day Preschool leadership. Collaborate with Children’s Worship Coordinator (KidSing) • Collaborate with Missions Pastor to provide missions opportunities for our children and their families • Administrative • Develops and maintains budgets.
