PURPOSE
Stanford Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a part-time Worship/Music Director to lead and engage our multigenerational church in worship.
RESPONSIBILITIES
While working alongside the Pastor, the Worship/Music Director is responsible for: Managing, developing, and executing a weekly worship experience that glorifies the Lord and leads the congregation to prepare their hearts to hear the Word of the Lord. Lead the congregation to become more engaging of all generations in worship services by including modern styles of music.Worship service may include congregational singing, prayer, special music, or other worship experiences Coordinate with Pastor, Secretary, as well as Sound & Video volunteers by selecting songs and preparing music text slides for worship service slide presentation and bulletin printing. Responsible for all aspects of CCLI licensing including reporting and inclusion with song text in worship service slide presentation. Coordinate song selection with pianist, organist, and sound volunteers as needed. Expect an average of 15 hours per week to include Wednesday night services, Sunday morning and evening services, any Choir or Praise Team Practices, preparation for worship services, and meeting with the Pastor and other church staff as directed by the Pastor. Coordinate the music/worship program with the church’s organization calendar, i.e., Christmas, Easter, etc. Coordinate with church members from all generations to enlist volunteers for choir, praise team, vocal and/or instrumental soloists or ensembles, worship service prayers, announcements, and scripture readings. Plan and coordinate music budget. Plan and lead special music projects. Other duties may include, but are not limited to; weddings, funerals, VBS and other types of church outreach
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a baptized believer in Jesus Christ
Must ensure theology and teaching is consistent with the Southern Baptist Convention’s Baptist Faith and Message, 2000
Must be willing to become a member of Stanford Baptist Church
No formal music education is required, but is preferred
Experience and ability in leading congregational singing and directing choirs/ensembles is preferred
REPORTING STRUCTURE
Reports directly to the Senior Pastor with input from the Personnel Committee
90 Day discussion to be held with the Personnel Committee
Annual review to be performed by Senior Pastor with input from the Personnel Committee
BENEFITS
One-week paid vacation beginning first year of employment.
SALARY
Stanford Baptist Church will provide a qualified candidate an annual salary of $20,000.
