    Job Description

    The Opportunity
Merrimack Valley Presbyterian Church, a vibrant and growing OPC congregation in the suburbs north of Boston, is seeking a fulltime Associate Pastor who will engage in the full range of pastoral ministries.

Although we expect our Senior Pastor for the past 14 years to mentor our next Associate Pastor, we are looking for a fellow pastor who will share in all of the work of pastoral ministry rather than an assistant for our Senior Pastor. E.g., our next Associate Pastor can expect to preach either during the morning or evening service every week, teach in some other capacity once per week, engage in visitation, etc. … For those with PCA backgrounds, the OPC only has the category of pastor. Therefore, you would be both a full member of our local Session and the Presbytery of New York and New England.

Salary and housing will be in the 80s, plus 10% of salary and housing for retirement, plus life, health, and disability insurance. Please note that we are fully open to calling a graduating MDiv student to serve as a full-time Intern while that man finishes his licensure and ordination exams. We will only call such an
individual if he is interested in pursuing pastoral ministry in the OPC and open to receiving a call from our congregation upon getting licensed.

    Successful candidates will:
    1. Meet the biblical requirements for a Minister.
    2. Love the LORD, love God’s word, and love God’s people.
    3. Enthusiastically embrace the Confession and Catechisms of the Orthodox Presbyterian
Church as a statement of his own faith.
    4. Possess an MDiv or equivalent.

    Start Date
We have penciled in a start date of this Summer but the position is open immediately and we can be flexible on a start date if a man needed to start a few months later than we hope for.

Please email a MIF and/or resume along with a link to sermons to David Booth.
