Job Summary: This part time position (15-20 hours/week) is responsible for leading the student ministry at Oak Grove Baptist Church – providing Christ-centered, enthusiastic leadership to recruit, support, and maintain participation of students (6-12th grades) and volunteers. This position reports to the Senior Pastor.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a relationship with students to encourage a deeper relationship with Christ. This includes group interactions, connection on social media, one-on-one and informal get togethers, and attending youth’s activities outside of church.
• Encourage and equip the students to be leaders at Oak Grove Baptist as well as in the community.
• Recruit, coordinate, equip, and support adult volunteers to serve within the student ministry.
• Communicate effectively with members of student ministry and their parents through a variety of methods to ensure adequate communication. 
• Encourage and shepherd students to participate in appropriate missions. Lead and direct at least one mission trip annually (local or international).
• Attend staff meetings and one-on-ones with the Senior Pastor for planning, coordination, and mentoring.
• Work within the designated church budget and monitor expenses. Help plan and implement student ministry fundraisers when necessary.
• All other tasks deemed appropriate by the Senior Pastor

No alcohol or tobacco use during church functions, on church grounds, or endorsed on social media, at informal meetings, etc.

Salary: $20,000 annually and parsonage available
