    Job Description

    Specific job duties include, but are not limited to the responsibility to:
    ● Provide strategic leadership to CCC student ministry in coordination with CCC leadership and student volunteers.
    o Set and complete quarterly goals and build an annual strategic plan in alignment with CCC annual goals.
    o Provide thoughtful discipleship for students, understanding their cultural context and questions and
    responding with rooted Gospel teaching and modeling.
    o Build annual calendar for CSM that includes weekly, periodic, and annual events (e.g. Project Sweat and summer camps) providing opportunities for teaching, service, and relational engagement with students both within and outside CCC.
    o Oversee communication to CCC students and parents, utilizing effective communication avenues and methods.
    o Carry out student events with excellence and in ways that build unity among the group as a whole while also responding to unique needs and ministry opportunities for male and female students and older and younger students.
    o Impart vision to and direct coordinated ministry with student ministry staff and volunteers, including
    providing professional development to Assistant Student Director and/or any student interns.
    o Plan and direct CCC ministry to 5th and 6th grade students that serves as a bridge between children’s ministry and CSM.
    o Pray and brainstorm ways to improve CCC ministry to students on a continual basis.
    ● Gather, connect with and invest in students in ways that display the grace and truth of Jesus. Students should experience CCC as an emotionally safe, relationally welcoming, and spiritually challenging place. They should be eager to invite others into it.
    o Utilize Sundays and scheduled events as opportunities to connect with a wide variety of students,
    including those on the fringes of CCC ministry.
    o Faithfully spend time with students outside of Sundays and scheduled events, including school visits,
    home visits and attending student events.
    o Build a student leadership team, calling a small group of students to a higher level of discipleship,
    investing in them as a group and pushing them to serve Christ and other students with commitment and humility.
    o Pursue students who are at risk of falling through the cracks and who are not yet involved, including
    calling parents of visiting students.
    o Call each parent of a visiting student (Sunday or event) within one week of visit.
    ● Serve as a bridge between CCC students and the broader CCC community.
    o Represent CSM to the body, including providing teaching on student-related matters as needed.
    o Identify ways in which CCC students can serve the CCC body and equip them to do so.
    o Work to provide an inclusive environment for students experiencing disability, including proactively
    contacting parents of students with disabilities and providing needed 1:1 volunteers.
    o Recruit and direct parent advisory team, determining the most effective way to utilize team members’
    perspective and energy.
    o Connect regularly with all parents, working with them to disciple their students.
    ● Participate as a member of the CCC staff.
    o Attend CCC staff meetings and staff retreats and participate in leading church wide events..
    o Report weekly to the Director of Ministry Operations, to identify highest priorities and to ensure cohesion between church efforts in all areas.
    o Meet as needed with the Senior Pastor to coordinate pastoral care of students and families.
    o Represent CCC in ministry contexts locally, including connecting monthly with one local youth minister.

    Schedule and Compensation:
    This is a full-time ministry position, averaging 40-45 hours/week. Sunday responsibilities will include interacting with students and parents informally. In addition, this position includes typical CCC staff responsibilities such as serving as support/back up to volunteers as needed, welcoming guests, making announcements, etc. The Director of Student Ministries is expected to communicate well in advance of any expected Sunday absence and collaborate regarding coverage of all responsibilities. Compensation is determined based on experience and qualifications and falls within compensation ranges for churches of comparable size and includes benefits for employee and family.

    Qualifications:
    ● Experience working with students in organizations and/or ministries of 150 students or more.
    ● Strong relationship skills with both students and parents.
    ● Astute observer of student culture with the ability and passion to thoughtfully connect the Gospel to key conversations and questions of students.
    ● Alignment to core theological convictions of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
    ● Strategic organizational thinker, able to see opportunities for growth for a ministry and work as part of a team to prioritize and carry out steps to achieve objectives.
    ● Bachelor’s degree required, some graduate school coursework and/or degree preferred.
