POSITION PURPOSE: Assistant Director (Pastor) of Discipleship & Outreach
Direct Report: Casey Cramer, Lead Pastor

POSITION OUTCOMES/EXPECTATIONS:
Discipleship
I. Equip Programming/Classes
• Identify curriculum to equip congregation through evangelistic programs (e.g. Alpha, Christianity Explored) and Sunday School classes in accordance to lead pastor’s vision and regularly evaluate plan for effectiveness
• Identify, inspire, and support leaders as they teach/equip congregation

II. Next Generation Ministry
• Develop the philosophy of ministry and vision for KCCC Student & Children Ministry
• Recruit, manage, and develop student ministry volunteers to develop a Large Group/Small Group ministry model
• Oversee and develop teaching team for any Sunday School or Large Group, regularly teaching in rotation
• Develop and Implement parent equipping opportunities and/or faith milestone events
• Oversee the leadership and programming of retreats, camps, and mission trips
• Develop and implement a plan for students to become communing members of KCCC and promote integration into the general life of the church

Outreach
• Develop community outreach and evangelism opportunities that coincide with the vision and mission of KCCC to engage the city of Springboro and surrounding areas with the gospel
• Find ways to market, plan, and coordinate KCCC events that welcome non-believers into community
• Find areas of need within community and develop opportunities to serve and renew the city

Pastoral/Administration Duties
• Preach in Sunday service at the discretion of the Lead Pastor, participate in weekly sermon
discussions
• Regularly participate in Sunday Worship including music, prayer, or administration of sacraments (if ordained)
• Regular participation in Session and Presbytery

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Education
• A Master of Divinity Degree is required as well as the potential for ordination in the Ohio Valley
Presbytery

Experience and Skills
• Communication skills necessary for preaching, teaching, and management
• Proven ability to recruit, develop, and mentor leaders
• Experienced leader of volunteer teams, and committees
• High capacity for managing multiple projects concurrently
• Strong empathy necessary for pastoring both adolescents and adults
• Strong pastoral experience in a local church

Requirements
• Enthusiastic alignment with the Theology and Philosophy of Ministry as communicated in Next
Steps Class
• All employees must commit to performing their duties in accordance with the stated mission and
purpose of the church, KCCC Policies and Procedures Manual, and the Westminster Confession of
Faith.
• All employees must be evangelical Christians and active members of an evangelical Christian
church/presbytery
