    Job Description

    Children and Family Ministry Internship – Position Objectives

    POSITION SUMMARY: The Children and Family Ministry Intern is a part-time position (12 hours/week) supervised by the Minister of Children and Families. The intern will primarily work with children and their families to grow in their relationship with Christ by providing spiritual development, biblical truth and relational care for all children at Wieuca.

    EXPECTATIONS: Work 12 hours a week including Sundays and Wednesdays.

    REPORTS TO: Minister of Children and Families

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • M.Div. or equivalent degree or in process.
    • Strong desire to interact with children of all ages as a primary ministry role.
    • Commitment to collaborative, creative, and innovative ministry in a flexible work environment.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Provide safe, secure environment for children to participate at Wieuca.
    • Assist in planning, preparing, and providing discipleship opportunities on Sundays and Wednesdays for studying the Bible, growing in relationships with other and Christ.
    • Communicate with children and their families. This includes using social media to communicate with the families and the larger Wieuca community.
    • Follow-up with first-time families and helping them assimilate into the KidsTown ministry.
    • Assist in planning, preparing and executing special events for children (Kid’s Adventure Weekend, Music and Arts Camp, etc.)
    • Assist in planning and leading a monthly Sunday Lunch Bunch for children on Sundays after worship.
    • Celebrate important life events (birthdays, graduations, baptisms, etc.)
    • Assist with Sunday morning worship by participating in leading different components of children and preschool worship and occasionally in the larger worship service.
    • Attend weekly staff meetings when possible.
    • Attend meetings with direct supervisor to evaluate work and coordinate planning.
    • Assist in planning, preparing, and leading Chapel and/or Praise and Worship opportunities for the Wieuca Day School, Wieuca After School, and Camp Wieuca.
    • Assist in planning, preparing, and leading family ministry opportunities (Mom2Mom, Wieuca K.N.O.T.S., Women on Mission, etc.)
    • Other responsibilities may be added based on gifting, passion, and church need.

    COMPENSATION:
    • Seminary scholarship stipends are available based on need.
    • Compensation offered based on scholarship need.
    • Work related expenses and mileage are reimbursable.
    • There are no benefits with this position.
