• OCC is a growing, compassionate church family striving to live out our mission and purpose statement in our everyday lives.
• OCC is an established church with a rich and impactful history that has been in Franklin County Kansas for 135 years.
• The well cared for and debt-free facility is in a residential area among family homes, apartment complexes, several other churches, and an elementary school.
• Ottawa, located less than an hour drive from Kansas City, the county seat for Franklin County, is a blue-collar community with a rich history and a lot to offer to anyone wanting to get back to that small town feel, and yet has many of the conveniences of a larger city. It has beautiful parks, a bustling, historic downtown, two supermarkets, a sports complex, multiple industries, an Advent Health hospital, and Ottawa University.
• In 2010 OCC purchased 10 acres and built the current facility, and within just a few short years we completely paid off the mortgage.
• Today, OCC is a mature congregation of believers, diverse in age, professions, & denominational backgrounds. We are a welcoming, fun-loving, Bible believing, caring family of believers seeking to connect people to Jesus by living out the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
• OCC believes God gifted us with a mission to seek out families in need in the community and demonstrate the love of Christ in tangible ways. We believe that in doing so the opportunity will present itself to share the gospel message of His great love for us all.

Pastor Profile

          OCC is looking for a full-time pastor who has a heart for worship and local missions,

engages with our community, is a servant leader who joyfully leads by example, and

delegates with wisdom. Plus, someone who is willing to lovingly confront beliefs and

doctrine contrary to God’s Word while preaching and teaching sound biblical principles.

• Spiritual Leader – able to cast God’s vision for OCC and passionately lead His church in advancing the kingdom of God.
• Preacher/Teacher – to preach and teach the gospel truth through scripture and the leading of the Holy Spirit for spiritual transformation.
• Shepherd – to compassionately guide, minister, and counsel the church members and community.
• Evangelist – to seek those who are lost with the goal of salvation through Christ.
• Administrator – to assist the Leadership Team in the ongoing operations (business) of the Church.
• Role model – to have a strong prayer life and be a living model as exampled by Christ.

Pastoral Call

• We recognize the importance of the pastor as someone who has heard and is actively pursuing a calling from God to pastoral ministry.
• Willingly submits to spiritual guidance.
• Is credentialed or is willing to enter the process of being credentialed.
• Understands the importance of current technology to aid in church worship and outreach.

Pastoral Character

• We believe that the character of a pastor is vital and must reflect scriptural guidelines.
• We are seeking a pastor who:

1. Biblically engages the hearts and minds of those seeking God, and to educate and challenge toward spiritual growth.
2. Is a Holy Spirit led disciple of Jesus who emphasizes prayer and biblical soundness.
3. Is a community-minded leader who actively engages in ministry inside and outside the church walls.
4. Is a good communicator, as well as a good listener, who is equipped to respond to people of all ages and backgrounds with compassion, care, and sound instruction.
5. Is willing to take risks and go where God leads.
