    Job Description

    Harvest USA is a community of people who are passionate about the gospel of Jesus Christ and believe that it is
    good news for those struggling with sexual sin. We are dedicated to helping men, women, and families impacted
    by sexual sin and to providing resources that equip churches to be places of hope and healing for sexual
    strugglers.

    Brief Overview
    The Harvest USA internship is a paid, in-person, 9-month long program (September – May) designed to further
    equip a person for ministry to those who have been impacted by sexual sin. The internship will require
    approximately 3-6 hours each week. Each intern will have the opportunity to engage in targeted discipleship
    with ministry recipients as well as help facilitate a biblical support group. In addition, each intern will participate
    in other training opportunities noted below.

    Harvest USA Intern Responsibilities
    Below is an overview of the responsibilities and approximate time commitments for the Harvest USA internship.
    Please prayerfully consider whether these responsibilities and time commitments are feasible and realistic for
    you.

    • Targeted Discipleship – You should plan on 1-2 hours of targeted discipleship each week. This includes preparation, note taking, and processing each meeting with your supervisor.

    • Facilitate Biblical Support Groups – You should plan on spending 4-5 hours each week facilitating a biblical support group. This includes preparation, prayer with other group leaders, group facilitation and a time to process the group meeting with your supervisor.

    • Education – You should plan on spending 2-3 hours per week reading assigned books, articles and blogs as well as watching lectures and seminars on relevant topics.

    • Supervision Meetings – You should plan on spending 1 hour each month meeting with your supervisor to discuss a specific topic.

    • Group Training – You should plan on spending 2-3 hours a month in group training. Interns from all programs will gather together for a meal, fellowship, and discussion.

    • Shepherding Care – You should plan on spending 1 hour each month meeting with a program director designed specifically for personal reflection, prayer, discipleship, and encouragement.

    • Ministry Exposure – Each intern will be exposed to all ministry programs at Harvest USA (i.e., Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, and Parent’s and Family Ministry) with the goal of gaining a basic understanding of the ministry involved in each program.

    • Teaching – Each intern will have the opportunity to develop their teaching skills by preparing for and delivering an assigned presentation to Harvest USA staff members. Constructive feedback will be offered.

    • Writing – Each intern will have the opportunity to develop their writing skills by writing a blog post or article on a relevant topic. Constructive feedback will be provided and the writing may be published on the Harvest USA website.

    Qualifications
    • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a genuine desire to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment, applying one’s knowledge, skills, and abilities to advance the gospel
    • Agreement with and enthusiastic support of Harvest USA’s purpose, mission, and doctrinal commitments
    • A heart to minister to those impacted by sexual sin
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher
    • Some formal training in counseling and/or the Bible
    • Some experience in the discipleship of others
    • Ability to work certain evenings during the week and occasionally on weekends
    • Familiarity with CCEF’s approach to counseling (preferred)

    Compensation
    Interns will be paid $16 an hour and will receive a $500 bonus upon the completion of the program.
