Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Chalmers Center seeks to expand its impact by connecting more deeply with churches and by partnering with church-equipping organizations that share the Center’s vision, mission, and core values. The Vice President of Church and Partner Relations leads a team that designs and executes this strategy in North America and the Majority World, creatively seeking out new distribution opportunities and serving as the primary liaison between partners and the Chalmers Center. The person in this highly strategic position must deeply hold to the Chalmers Center’s core beliefs, humbly yet firmly advancing the Center’s mission among a wide range of organizations, denominations, and networks.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Commits to pray and advocate for the poor and the church in light of the mission of the Chalmers Center
  • Helps create and execute church and partner relations strategy
  • Acts as one of the primary points of contact for major partners
  • Helps lead the efforts to create, test and execute worldwide channel distribution strategy
  • Proactively searches out new sectors, partners, and distribution methods
  • Creatively works with partners to discover ways to meet their needs in advancing the Kingdom
  • Owns, operationalizes, and adapts Chalmers’ Partnership Framework with church-equipping organizations
  • Negotiates and writes MOUs and other partner agreements to be signed by partner representatives and the Chalmers Center Executive Director.
  • Acts as internal liaison and advocate for partners
  • Works with the Curriculum & Training Team regarding product modifications for customers
  • Works with the Deployment Team to understand customer requirements, pilot new initiatives, and deliver programming
  • Works with the Development Team to identify and refer potential financial partners
  • Communicates with Kingdom-Centered Innovation Team about partners’ new product requests
  • Collaborates with Marketing and Communications Team regarding customer needs and product positioning
  • Manages staff both in the U.S. and in the Majority World
  • Works with the Technologist / Operations Team to communicate business requirements and technical issues with CRM tools
  • Serves as a member of the Management Team
  • Travels to maintain excellent partner relations both in the US and the Majority World. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Passionate for serving Christ’s Kingdom, the church, and people who are poor
  • Articulate about Chalmers’ biblical framework of poverty alleviation and products
  • Experience with Christian relief and development organizations or other ministries working in the Majority World required
  • Experience with minority churches and nonprofits in U.S. (not required but preferred)
  • Strategic thinker who can structure distribution channels as well as complex relationships
  • Experience with sales or fostering strategic partnerships
  • Creative problem solver who can listen to a partner’s story and quickly ascertain mutual benefits
  • Able to draw on the technical expertise of others on the team
  • Understands the value of authentic relationships and can build trust
  • High emotional intelligence which gives them the ability to relate
  • Connector, well-networked, and well-versed in the church and nonprofit landscape
  • Able to think strategically and to decisively execute
  • Heart for the local church and empathizes with its challenges
  • Experience working with materially poor people is preferred
  • Is more concerned with solutions that advance the kingdom than with advancing the Chalmers Center
  • Experience working with Salesforce CRM
