    Job Description
    Greenway Baptist Church (GBC) is an established growing church in Boone, North Carolina. We are seeking an Associate Pastor whose duty is to assist the Senior Pastor, sharing in general pastoral and administrative duties, but with a focus on shepherding the Youth Ministry. This person has a passion for evangelism and outreach within a multi-generational congregation.

    Qualifications
    1. Have a genuine, true Christian salvation experience.
    2. Live a balanced life of prayer, Bible study, rest, worship, and financial
    stewardship.
    3. Exhibit a strong work ethic and personal integrity.
    4. Have a knowledge and ability to guide a non-believer to become a baptized disciple of Jesus and guide new disciples in ongoing spiritual maturity.
    5. Have a degree in Christian studies from an accredited Christian university or seminary.
    6. Be a dedicated Christian with a desire for personal as well as congregational spiritual growth and a genuine commitment to Biblical Christian principles
    7. Demonstrate positive relational skills with all ages, and have a genuine enthusiastic presence.

    Job Duties
    1. Effectively work with the Senior Pastor, support his vision for the church and collaborate with him on all church activities.
    2. Have an active role in weekly worship services and serve alongside the Senior Pastor in pastoral care.
    3. Oversee all aspects of the Youth Ministry including small group Bible Study, Wednesday night activities, mission trips, outreach activities, and budget planning.
    4. Teach and connect with youth and their families with the primary purpose of helping them grow in Christlikeness and discipleship.
    5. Have a clear vision for the direction for Youth Ministry, taking responsibility for identifying and ordering curriculum for the youth. Be open to constructive criticism and reflection for program improvement.
    6. Recruit, work with, and train volunteers to assist with youth activities.
    7. Attend staff meetings when called by the Senior Pastor and discharge other
    duties as assigned.
    8. Have communication skills to effectively deliver sermons several times a year,
    and fill the pulpit in the Senior Pastor’s absence.
    9. Have an understanding and proficiency in technology, keeping the church website and social media presence current.

    Hours and Benefits
    This position is classified as a full-time employee with a 40-hour minimum work week.
    Benefits consistent with current church policies for paid time off and holidays.

    Compensation
    ● Salary range: $53,000 – $60,000 based upon education and experience.
