    Job Description

    We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Student and Young Adult Pastor or Director to join our church family. Responsibilities include leading our current Student ministry group, developing a young adult ministry, recruiting and training volunteers and leaders, and teaching and preaching to middle school and high school students. Candidates should have a solid godly character, student ministry and leadership experience.     Key Responsibilities:

    – Disciples, guides, and mentors students and young adults to help them navigate the challenges of life and develop their faith from a biblical perspective.
    – Create a culture of discipleship, worship, learning, and fellowship.
    – Leads our students and young adults by intentionally building relationships with them and showing interest in their lives.
    – Effectively teach students and young adults biblically based messages on a weekly basis and develop (or implement) teaching curriculum for the ministries.
    – Reports to the Lead Pastor and under the authority of the Board of Elders.
    – Oversee, organize, and lead youth mission trips and summer camp for students.
    – Organize and facilitate various student and young adult events, retreats, fundraisers, and social activities.
    – Recruit and mobilize volunteers to support the church ministry.
    – Create and develop a young adult ministry (ages 18-29). This could start with leading a young adult’s LifeGroup.
    – Help with online social media presence.

    Qualifications:

    – Cultivate and maintain a deep relationship and devotional life with God that’s expressed in Godly character. Demonstrate a growing personal relationship with Jesus. This can be characterized by a solid understanding of Scripture, prayer, and a commitment to living out biblical principles.
    – Experience working with middle and high school students in a ministry or primary leadership capacity. This could include serving as a youth/student pastor or director or volunteer in a church or para-church organization.
    – Meets the biblical qualifications for pastoral ministry (1 Tim. 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9) and agrees with our Southern Baptist statements of Faith, Core Values, and Vision.
    – Highly relational—ability to interact with a variety of people in a variety of circumstances and the ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
    – Experience in recruiting and leading ministry volunteers.
    – Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team, introducing ideas and maintaining healthy relationships with the staff and church. Open to receiving feedback, constructive criticism, and mentoring.
    – Must be capable of using email, Excel, and Word (Google Docs) and proficient in using Social Media.
    – If married, both husband and wife agree that they feel God’s calling to full-time ministry.
    – Self-motivation and commitment to excellence are required, as well as having effective communication and organizational skills.
    – Must be willing to be developed and mentored by the lead pastor.

    Additional Info:
    Please share any other skills that you have that could be helpful, such as graphic design, photography, musical abilities, etc. We have a smaller staff, and everyone functions in multiple roles, so we prefer a candidate who can bring extra skills and abilities to serve our church.

    We will decide if the new candidate will have a pastor or director title due to their past experience. We are looking for people who first have a calling, then the ability, and lastly, the experience. So, we would encourage you to apply even if you have the minimum experience.

    Full time salaried position, 40 –50 hour week with Heath, Dental, Vision, 403B Benefits
