Purpose: 

To develop and lead the local, regional, national, and international missions and ministry efforts of HBC so that members Lead all People to be Transformed by Jesus Christ.

To develop and lead the college and young adult ministry of HBC so that it effectively Leads all people to be Transformed by Jesus Christ.

Responsibilities with Missions

• Ensure that all mission and ministry efforts of HBC align with the church’s mission and the Transformed Journey as well as fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20)  and obey the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:34-40).
• Regularly meet with and lead the Mission Team.
• Develop short range and long range goals for missions and ministry in collaboration with the Ministerial and Mission Teams.
• Develop, promote, and lead church-wide mission and ministry emphases, involving praying, giving, serving, going, and sending.
• Coordinate and integrate mission education throughout all church ministries and age groups.
• Guide the Mission and Ministry Coordinators to lead their Life Groups to be actively involved in evangelism, ministry, and missions.
• Guide, equip, and evaluate HBC’s Greeters Ministry and guest follow-up.
• Connect with other mission pastors and leaders from other churches and organizations for the purpose of communication and collaboration.
• Establish and maintain relationships with local, national, and global mission partners.
• Attend conferences and seminars for the purpose of personal growth and professional development.
• Oversee budget expenditures for the missions and ministry of HBC.
• Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Responsibilities with Young Adults

• In collaboration with the Pastor of Discipleship, provide leadership and direction for college-aged and young adult Life Groups, including selecting curriculum and enlisting, equipping, encouraging, and evaluating Life Group leaders and teams.
• Create, equip, and guide a leadership team of college-aged students, young adults, and older adults who will help direct the ministry and serve within the church.
• Foster intergenerational connections between college students and young adults with older adults in the church.
• Develop a comprehensive ministry plan that involves seasonal events, retreats, service opportunities, and mission trips for college and young adults.
• Work with the Student Pastor to build and maintain a cohesive relationship between the college ministry and the high school ministry to ensure smooth transitions for graduating students between the two ministries.
• Be proactive in keeping the young adult ministry in alignment with the mission of HBC and the Transformed Journey.
• Oversee budget expenditures for the young adult ministry.
• Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
