    ABOUT THE POSITION

    The Pastor of Worship and Pastoral Care will assist the Lead Pastor in planning congregational worship services of the church and be responsible for the selection of the musical programs. He will direct the organization and implementation of a comprehensive worship program that will include choir, praise team, and vocal and instrumental ensembles for all ages. In addition to the music ministry of the church, the Pastor of Worship and Pastoral Care will serve alongside of the Lead Pastor in ministering to the congregation through visitation, encouragement, bereavement, and counsel when appropriate. The Pastor of Worship and Pastoral Care is responsible to the church and the Lead Pastor for the spiritual development and promotion of the church. The Pastor of Worship and Pastoral Care must be a committed, maturing Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

    Worship Responsibilities:

    • Primary Leader of our Music and Worship Team: This position will serve as the lead worshipper for all services, including special services. However, there is an expectation that they will identify, encourage, and mentor new talent and leaders amongst the congregation.
    • Team Leader: Lead weekly and ongoing worship practices and other events as necessary.
    • Provide oversight of all church equipment, technology, instruments, and their maintenance as needed.
    • Provide care & leadership for A/V Media: Coordinate and communicate regularly with the A/V Team as needed.
    • Coordinate with Youth and Childrens Ministry Leaders for special services and musical or worship related needs.
    • Oversee music-related licensing: Maintain and track all music related licenses, fees, and memberships for the church.
    • Assist the pastor in planning congregational services of the church and be responsible for the selection of the musical and seasonal programs.
    • Serve as a leader in the worship services, giving direction to the congregational singing, choir, and other phases of worship.
    • Lead in creating and maintaining a Church Music Committee or Council. Seek input from committee members in matters such as goal setting, evaluation, leadership, music, and worship styles.
    • Prepare reports necessary to keep the church fully informed concerning the music ministry.
    • Prepare an annual music budget reflecting the needs for the entire music program. Administer the music budget once the church approves it.
    • Assist other staff members and volunteers in church-wide events when needed.
    • Assist in the selection and provision of appropriate music for weddings, funerals, special projects, and other church-related activities.
    • Keep informed of current music trends, methods, materials, promotional ideas, and administrative techniques.
    • For each worship service and special service: Prepare a comprehensive multimedia presentation utilizing computer programs, video and audio equipment, and resources.
    • Preparation for worship will include completion of computer-generated presentations for the service including, but not limited to, Microsoft Power Point, Media Shout, Pro Presenter and other presentation programs, video, and audio resources.
    • Provide annual training to A/V Team.
    • Coordinate with Lead Pastor and other necessary leaders in planning weekly worship flow. Attend weekly Staff Meetings.
    • Typical Administrative Duties: Scheduling volunteers, charting music, etc…
    • Preform other duties as assigned by Lead Pastor.

    Pastor to the Congregation Responsibilities:

    • Pastoral care of members to include visitation and encouragement as appropriate.
    • Serve and work with church committees as assigned and provide leadership and insight.
    • Oversee our discipleship classes (BLAST). Help secure leaders and teachers for each group.  Promote and encourage attendance.
    • Support and participate in church staff meetings as called by the Lead Pastor.
    • Be available to serve as pulpit supply as requested.
    • Submit timely budget requests for each area of responsibility.
    • Maintain financial stewardship to the approved budget for each area of responsibility.
    • Timely submission of announcements for the church bulletin and articles for the newsletter as set by the Ministry Assistant.
    • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
    • Manage a balanced schedule that reflects (at least 40 hours per week).
