Come join our amazing team working in the Western NC mountains. Our dynamic and growing church is looking to fill the role of a full-time student life pastor. We are a 3 year old church that has seen the Lord do an incredible work. We launched with just over 130 people and now have on average between 600-700 people attending. On average our student ministry (6th-12th grade) has 50 students and is growing. We will be accepting applications through March 4th 2024.

Purpose of the Position

The Student Life Pastor is responsible for the development and implementation of vision and strategy for all programs, activities, and educational aspects related to the students at The Orchard Church. This includes ministering to the spiritual health and growth of students and outreach. Student Life for The Orchard Church consists of grades 6-12.

Key Responsibilities

● Develop and lead programs according to the vision and purpose of Student Life.

● To spiritually influence The Orchard Church Student Life by introducing them to the Gospel and teaching/leading them to become maturing disciples of Jesus Christ.

● Build and maintain quality relationships with students and their parents, both churched and un-churched and connect students to 1-on-1 discipleship utilizing the program determined by leadership.

● Set and oversee the Student Life budget.

● Creatively develop new opportunities for outreach and relationships inside the church and in the community.

● Collaborate under the leadership of Discipleship Pastor with all Family Ministry staff for effective family ministry.

● Create/develop student leadership consisting of students and adults to fulfill Ephesians 4:11-12 within the ministry.

● Oversee the implementation of Student Life programs in revitalization/replant church opportunities as directing by the Lead Pastor.

● Responsible for the enlistment, development, and training of adult volunteers for the Student Life program and activities.

● Provide spiritual guidance as needed. He will be available and responsive to crisis situations. He will provide pastoral care through the most effective means possible.

● Responsible for the purchasing of Student Life supplies, material, and equipment.

● Ensure that all student volunteers understand and adhere to the Prevention of Child and Youth Abuse Policy.

● The Student Life Pastor is expected to adhere to the teachings of The Orchard Church in their personal lives as well as their professional ministries. Outside of the church, the Pastor serves as an Orchard Church representative.

● The Student Life Pastor shall maintain a consistent and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ; to include but not limited to: regular prayer and Bible study. He shall strive for spiritual growth and development, living above reproach and abstaining from all appearance of evil.

● Maintain wise stewardship of all God’s resources that He has given.

● Other duties as assigned by the direct report and Lead Pastor.

Qualifications

● Minimum of two (2) years experience in Student Ministry.

● Evidence of moral character and a lifestyle that is consistent with that of The Orchard Church Constitution, Bylaws, and Statement of Faith. ● An effective verbal and written communicator.

● Demonstrates experience in training, teaching, mentoring, and planning.
