The congregation of Bauer Christian Reformed Church is currently engaged in a prayerful search for our next full-time Associate Pastor. We are a growing church full of excitement for our future. Our church has been called to proclaim the Gospel and make disciples in the community surrounding Hudsonville, Jenison, Zeeland, and Allendale. We are a church at the crossroads of these four towns in Michigan just a short commute away from Grand Rapids and Lake Michigan. Purpose of Position
To serve God and His people by leading in the congregational care, connections and outreach ministries of the church, as well as hold to a commitment to preach and teach the Word.

Qualifications
● Meets biblical qualifications as expressed in 1 Timothy 3
● Has a deep personal love for Jesus with a desire to reach the lost
● Passionate about prayer
● Gifted preacher who preaches expository sermons in an authentic and engaging way
● Has the ability to encourage and develop disciples with a warm spirit
● Able to comfort and shepherd a congregation through hardship and loss
● Willingness to be fully immersed in the life of the church family
● Prior experience in pastoral work (ordained or non-ordained)
● Ordained or be willing to be ordained in the CRC as a Minister of the Word

Theological Distinctives
● Holds to the inerrancy of the Bible in the original manuscripts
● Verbal-plenary view of the inspiration of Scripture
● Able to sign the Covenant for Office-bearers in the CRC without reservation
● Fully affirm the “Five points of Calvinism” as explained in the Canons of Dort
● Complementarian with regard to men’s and women’s roles in the church
● Believes that life begins at conception and that all life is to be valued and protected
● Believes marriage is between one man and one woman

Responsibilities
● Provide congregational care for all the generations of the church
● Cultivate connections with visitors, new members and long time members
● Preach the Word 25-30 services per year
● Offer leadership in catechism, adult discipleship, and education
● Encourage hospitality, fellowship, and outreach both personally and through church programs
