Maple Valley Church in Maple Valley, Washington, is looking for a Director of Youth Ministries to join our team. This person will be responsible for outreach to and discipleship of middle school and high school students in Maple Valley and the surrounding areas. The Director of Youth Ministries will work to foster a welcoming environment where students are encouraged and supported in their spiritual and social development. This will take place in partnership with families and with the support of volunteer youth leaders.

What you’ll be doing:
• Building relationships with students, parents, community leaders, volunteers, and colleagues.
• Providing Biblical teaching and discipleship for students.
• Leading Wednesday night youth ministry and Sunday morning Sunday School.
• Strategically planning opportunities to spiritually equip students and families.
• Leading retreats, camps, events and outreach opportunities for students.
• Equipping a team of volunteer leaders to personally invest in students.
• Investing the overall ministry of Maple Valley Church to reach the community for Christ.

What you need to have:
• Clear commitment to Christ and the church, evidenced by a mature and growing personal relationship with Jesus.
• The ability to effectively communicate the gospel to students.
• A passion for discipling students and partnering with families.
• Experience recruiting and training leaders.
• Strong organizational skills for planning ministry events.
• Effective communication skills.
• The ability to be a peacemaker within the church.
• A teachable attitude and the desire to learn and grow.
• The desire to work within the context of a team and support the overall church mission.
• At a minimum, the director must have a Bachelor of Arts or equivalent at the time of hiring.
