    PASTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

    Brookfield Christian Reformed Church is  seeking a Pastor with strong leadership, teaching and relational gifts to be a part of our pastoral team and to assist in leading the many ministries of the church. The Pastor will also integrate visitors, new members and long-time members more fully into the life of our church – and potentially engage on a number of other leadership fronts, from teaching,
    preaching and worship to administrative and pastoral guidance.

    This person will:
    ● Hold a healthy, Biblical and Reformed view of the Church, and share our vision of an inviting, hospitable, intergenerational, loving community of Christ.
    ● Embrace our core values of Worship, Evangelism, Generosity, Justice, Community, & Discipleship.
    ● Enjoy working with people of all ages, with a passion for worship and discipleship ministry.
    ● Display a bias toward action and dedicated work ethic with an eagerness to engage across ministries.
    ● Teach and/or preach the Gospel in a clear and engaging manner.

    PASTOR: This person will be under the supervision of the Lead Pastor and will serve as part of a ministry team. The staff will meet regularly to discuss ministry goals, review and assign responsibilities, and set future direction. This person alongside the Lead Pastor will minister to the entire congregation.

    PREACHING: This person is a strong teacher/preacher able to communicate well with people of all ages.

    FOCUS: This person will play an integral role in pastoral care while leading the congregation to a deeper and more robust Christian Faith, which will include discipleship; coordination, administration, formation and resourcing of Life Groups and Fellowship Groups; teach/preach the Gospel; etc.

    AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
    ● Preaching and teaching.
    ● Encourage and promote a passionate Christ-following within the congregation.
    ● Offer vision and strategic leadership.
    ● Participate in strategy development for discipleship and spiritual growth within the church, catering to various age groups and spiritual maturity levels.
    ● Encourages and organizes initiatives that support individuals and families with differing needs.
    ● Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers serving in discipleship and pastoral care ministries, fostering a sense of unity, purpose, and spiritual growth among team members.
    ● Worship service coordination as needed.
    ● Other pastoral duties may be assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    ● A strong love for Jesus and his Church.
    ● A thorough knowledge of, passion for, and ability to teach the Reformed Christian Faith.
    ● A lifestyle that reflects gratitude for what Christ has done on the cross.
    ● A proven ability to inspire people toward a deeper relationship with Jesus.
    ● A positive experience with the Church.
    ● A working knowledge and passion for worship and discipleship ministry.
    ● A humble and teachable spirit.
    ● Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to connect with a variety of people of all backgrounds and ages.
    ● Previous experience in a pastoral role.
    ● A Masters of Divinity from an accredited seminary is preferred, as is CRCNA ordination.
    ● Aligned with the CRC’s stand on human sexuality.
    ● Strong advocate of Christian Education.
    ● Interest and ability in designing and leading Reformed dialogical worship.
