    Job Description

    Pastoral Residency Statement of Purpose
The leadership of WCPC wants to help build a flourishing gospel ecosystem in the Bay Area. We want to be a part of planting and revitalizing churches, doing justice and mercy, helping people connect faith and work, and most importantly, seeing people far from Jesus get connected with Him. We believe that one of the ways we can most effectively work towards this future is through pastoral residency. A gospel ecosystem needs trained pastors, and in a place like the Bay Area, where ministry has unique challenges, training pastors in Bay Area churches is all the more important. Our passion for a residency program is a direct outflow of our commitment to seeing the Church flourish.

What are the benefits of Pastoral Residency?
Residency is of benefit to WCPC, pastoral residents, and the global church. WCPC benefits from the infusion of trained and called individuals, ready to use their gifts in service of the family of WCPC. Residents benefit from intentional mentoring and development as they grow into their vocation. The wider church body benefits from the cultivation of well trained pastors.

What makes WCPC a good place for Residents?
WCPC has an existing culture of development, sourced in our lead pastor’s desire and ability to develop pastors. Residents will be included in high level leadership discussions, and have access to the leaders of WCPC, as well as their connected networks of church and parachurch leaders. In addition, we are well structured with opportunities for learning, mentoring, and growth. In other words, we are a growing church with plenty of opportunities for residents to jump in and do ministry.
