    Job Description

    Position Title: Connections Pastor
    Ministry Area: Care & Discipleship
Classification: Full Time (40 hours a week), salary exempt, benefits
    Accountable To: Senior Pastor

    Position Summary:
The Connections Pastor is responsible for helping people find connection to fellowship and spiritual growth. When people visit the church, they are usually searching for meaningful connection with God, with Christian friends, and a place to belong. The Connections Pastor will be passionate about helping them find this.

The Connections Pastor will connect people to meaningful ways to serve Christ. We don’t want to be a church where the pastors do all the work. We couldn’t even if we tried! We want pastors to equip the saints for works of ministry.

The Connections Pastor will be responsible for implementing a leadership development strategy to identify, recruit, train, and coach lay leaders in each of the ministry areas described below.

The Connections Pastor will also be a core member of the teaching team, preaching 8-12 times per year and will assist the Senior Pastor in planning teaching series.

    Position Responsibilities:
Hospitality and Follow-up: caring for each person that comes into our midst so no one falls through the cracks or goes unnoticed.

    • Oversee Communications Director

Connection to Fellowship: helping unconnected people find meaningful Christian fellowship
Life Groups: These groups help people build meaningful friendships as they study scripture, pray, and
    fellowship together.
    • Implement a leadership development strategy to identify, recruit, train, and coach life group leaders
    • Develop a process of connecting people into life groups and launching new groups

Young Adults: We want to prioritize reaching this age group, which has not been our church’s strength.
    • Develop a plan to reach young adults, connect them with each other, and help them to be involved in community, life groups, and service in and through our C3 family
    • Mentor and develop young adult leaders and guide the young adult ministry

Parents: Children’s and Youth Ministry are big priorities in our church with good teams in place. Our
Connections Pastor will focus on reaching out to the parents of these youth and kids
    • Develop parent enrichment opportunities to help parents connect and grow
    • Develop life groups for parents in same stages of life

Connection to Serving: connecting people with ways to use their gifts in service and leadership
Leadership Development: invest in potential leaders, connect them to opportunities to lead
    • Service in the Church: help people identify their gifts and passions and use them in service at C3
    • Service outside the church: Help people find meaningful ways to reach out and serve others in our
community. Examples of current ways to serve are: ESL, City Team, Jail Ministry, Real Options, Alpha Course

    Qualifications and Experience:
    • Mature and growing faith in Jesus Christ.
    • Spiritual giftedness in leadership, teaching, organization administration
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Counseling skills
    • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience
