    Job Description

    We are looking to hire an exemplary Southern Baptist Youth Pastor who will provide visionary oversight and pastoral leadership to the youth of Miner Baptist Church. The Youth Pastor will partner with parents and youth leaders in discipling youth, consistently engage students with the good news of the gospel and support them in developing their love for Him and others. To be successful in this position, the Youth Pastor will be present in the lives of the youth in their various contexts working to provide a place where students feel they can belong, believe the good news, and become lifelong disciples of Christ.

    Qualifications:

    • Has a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing relationship with Him.
    • Holds a University / College / Seminary degree or its equivalent in theological studies and/or youth ministry.
    • Has experience in youth ministry or related field.
    • Articulates and lives into a Gospel-centered, missional understanding of the church.
    • Demonstrates the ability to lead by example, equip, and disciple youth.
    • Understands the needs of and has an affinity for young people.
    • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Proficient with computer applications and social media.
    • Is teachable and open to feedback and accountability.
    • Southern Baptist and supportive of the 2000 BFM.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare age-appropriate Bible lessons and services for students.
    • Train and recruit volunteers for efficient implementation of church programs.
    • Connect students with opportunities to serve in local, domestic and international missions.
    • Train and recruit volunteers to serve in the student ministry.
    • Partner with believing students to reach lost students.
    • Provide counseling to youths and help them realize their individual goals.
    • Administer and plan numerous youth programs like evangelism, retreats and Bible study sessions.
    • Coordinate with parents of youth group members regarding their children’s involvement, discipleship, and participation in the church.
    • Assist in organizing and compiling of Life Group curriculum.
    • Participate and contribute to staff and church meetings.
    • Train youths on how to be future faith-filled leaders and set up programs to facilitate discipleship and spiritual growth.
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with various leaders in the community for purposes of swift outreach programs.

    In the same way, encourage the young men to be self-controlled in everything. Make yourself an example of good works with integrity and dignity in your teaching. Your message is to be sound beyond reproach, so that any opponent will be ashamed, because he doesn’t have anything bad to say about us. ~ Titus 2:6-8 CSB But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things. ~ Galatians 5:22-23 CSB
