    Job Overview

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee Children’s and Youth Ministry (CM & YM): Nursery, 4-8’s, and 9-12’s; primarily Sunday morning classes. Youth Ministry twice monthly in the evening.
    • Assist with VBS.
    • Help lead bi-monthly midweek ministry.
    • Select Curriculum for CM & YM; submit to the Lead Pastor and/or elders for approval.
    • Recruit, train, and coordinate workers for CM & YM classes and events. Works cooperatively with all staff and volunteers.
    • Create and provide the best CM & YM environment possible for children, teens, and families; this environment is to be:
      • Safe  (in coordination with the Security Team).
      • Welcoming, friendly, and fun.
      • Age appropriate.
      • Gospel Oriented (in curriculum and demonstrating through words and actions).
    • Implement and enforce CM policies.
    • Communicate the needs of the CM & YM program to other staff and church leaders as appropriate. Organizes, sets up, and stocks classrooms with necessary supplies.
    • Coordinates sanitation and safety protocols for CM & YM.
    • Visits classes for the purpose of evaluation and teacher support in order to address any issues or emergencies that arise.
    • Teaches classes as needed.
    • Assists pastor and elders in visiting young church families involved in CM & YM as requested; consults with parents regarding an issue with their child or teen; and refers to certified counselors as appropriate.
    • Participates in the CM & YM Team annual budget estimating process.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Job Description

    Qualifications or Skills Required:

    • Professing Christian, Signed Membership Agreement for Community Fellowship Church and agreement with the Community Fellowship Church Statement of Faith.
    • Excellent communication skills: verbal and written.
    • Ability to teach children.
    • Adaptability and Flexibility.
    • High reliability for keeping sensitive information confidential; ability to recognize when issues need to be shared with church leadership and/or local authorities.
    • Previous children’s ministry experience preferred.
