    Job Description

    The Assistant Pastor of Discipleship Ministries is chiefly responsible for overseeing all of our adult discipleship ministry programs. This is a full-time, salaried position.     Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Give leadership to and oversee the discipleship ministries of New Life
    o Give leadership and oversight to the adult teaching ministries of the
    church including Adult School of Discipleship and Living for the King
    o Give leadership and oversight to the Men’s and Women’s Ministries,
    including being the direct report for the Women’s Ministry Coordinator.
    o Give leadership and oversight to the Welcome Ministry, including
    Greeting Team, Visitor Follow-up, and Welcome Class and events.
    2. Give leadership and oversight to the Home Group Ministry
    o Align Home Groups to the purpose and core values of New Life
    o Recruit, train and equip Home Group leaders.
    o Ensure a process is in place for newcomers to plug into Home Groups.
    3. Preaching and other ordained functions
    o Preaching 8-10 times/year
    o Worship assistance as needed in liturgy and communion serving
    o Occasional weddings and memorial services
    4. Pastoral care
    o Meeting with congregants a minimal number of times, referring out
    where ongoing care is needed
    o Minimal premarital counseling
    5. Embodying Core Values
    o Being in a home group
    o Meeting with non-believers
    o Occasional mission trips
    o Personal growth and development
    6. Other
    o Denominational functions
    o As delegated from the Sr. Pastor from time to time

    1. Ministries are aligned with the church’s vision, mission, and core values and they
    follow-through in accomplishing their roles.
    2. Godly servant-leaders are developed and deployed in roles where they have gifts
    and passions.
    3. Leaders are shepherded and supported so they love and lead well, grow, and
    experience fulfillment through their roles.
    4. Members are growing in maturity to reveal and represent Christ in their domain.

    Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
    Seminary degree preferred
    Ordained in the PCA
