Overview: The Church Administrator will work with Church Council, Pastors, staff, and other key committees in addressing most areas of church operations, administer the business of the church, and manage the use and maintenance of the buildings and grounds in accordance with the church’s short and long-term goals.
Description and Responsibilities: The Church Administrator reports directly to the Associate Pastor and works closely with the Lead Pastor. The director will be responsible for the following areas, as well as other responsibilities, tasks, and other duties as assigned by the Council, Lead Pastor, and/or the Associate Pastor.
In implementing the mission, vision, and core values of the church, the Church Administrator will supervise employees in both the financial and administrative areas, and the building facilities and maintenance areas. The Church Administrator will work with the Associate Pastor to guide, direct, and manage the critical functions of the church to meet its long-term goals. Direct responsibilities include matters in budgeting, payroll, accounting, policies & procedures, HR, IT coordination, facilities management, risk management, and work with contractors.
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; or equivalent work experience.
Experience in church ministry settings desired, with large church settings preferred.
Broad knowledge of current trends in property management, maintenance, and mechanical issues.
Previous experience in managing people, with ability to make decisions and hold others accountable.
Strong Christian faith and character; and a commitment to the mission of the church, to an open and inclusive position, and to women in leadership.
Time required: 40 hours per week on average. Sundays and weeknights may be required.
Compensation: The job will be compensated according to the educational background and experience of the person
