    Job Description

    Bethlehem Baptist is a rural church of approximately 200 people located in Crossville, Tn (Cumberland County). There is a good mix of all ages in our congregation. The Associate Pastor of Family Ministries will lead students and their families to pursue Christ-centered lives. This is a full-time position working in cooperation and under the advisement of the Senior Pastor.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Primary Responsibility Area: Middle and High School students and their parents
      • Plan & coordinate programs that foster fellowship between church and community
      • Maintain relationships with students & families both during and outside church meeting times
      • Reach out to students by attending school lunches, events at school and in the community
      • Develop and support student led ministry efforts
      • Organize retreats, conferences and camps for students
      • Oversee and/or teach student classes
      • Sunday AM – LifeWay Gospel Project
      • Sunday PM – No current curriculum
      • Wednesday PM – AWANA Trek and Journey
      • Recruit, train, support and equip volunteer leaders for student & family ministries/activities
      • Be active in the leadership of seasonal programs such as VBS and Christmas events
      • Publicize student ministries/activities on church website, social media, bulletins, posters etc
      • Develop and oversee student budget.
    • Secondary Responsibility Area #1: Management of Family Life Center
      • Coordinate ministries and activities that take place within the Family Life Center
      • Maintain Family Life Center according to church guidelines
    • Secondary Responsibility Area 2: Elementary students and their parents
      • Begin to develop a relationship with elementary students and their parents
      • Maintain a good communication and relationship with our Children’s Director
      • Assist Senior Pastor with other duties as necessary

    Requirements

    • Must adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
    • Associates degree required, working toward or willingness to pursue the degree would be considered
    • 1-2 years’ experience working with youth
    • Ability to recruit, train, supervise and lead volunteers, teachers and assistants
    • Self-motivated and ability to motivate others
